BACKGROUND: Back in 2021, Sanrio made a new trio of characters titled 'Ranran Puranrou' to help advertise and build excitement for the reopening of Sanrio Puroland (a Sanrio theme park) to other Asian countries. Puroland (and all of Japan) was closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The trio consisted of three pig girls named Ran, Puu, and Rou and were each fans/collectors of a different Sanrio character. Ran was themed after Pompompurin, Puu after Hello Kitty, and Rou after Cinnamoroll. Pigs were chosen as their species because they're a good luck symbol in China.
THE CHANNEL: Ran, Puu, and Rou ran a YouTube channel where they'd vlog about Sanrio-related events and just hang out. One video, promoting Easter at Puroland, was a challenge related to Gudetama (the egg character). Another video was the girls giving their opinions on the annual "Sanrio Character Ranking", an event where international audiences can vote on who the best Sanrio character is. Just simple videos where the girls hung out and also promoted Sanrio and Puroland related news.
However, this campaign wasn't too successful, so Sanrio shut the channel down, and no longer uses Ranran Puranrou at all. From my research, none of the videos were properly archived, but the Puroland offical twitter account still has the thumbnails and brief descriptions of each video.
The channel has (somewhat) been preserved on the Wayback Machine! The channel's home page can be viewed, but other tabs (such as the 'about' section, community tab, etc) cannot be viewed. Also, from my research so far, none of the videos got saved. Bummer! I'm sure they're available somewhere though, if someone bothered to capture the channel's home page!
VIDEO INFO (UPDATE): Okay so I had some info wrong about some of the videos, my apologies! But, screenshots are available now!
