This particular commercial has vexed me for some years. If there wasn't a witness for it, I would have considered it a figment of my imagination. I know it exists, it's just impossible using available search engine limitations. I'm pretty sure I'm the only person looking for this so if you see any other accounts with these similar details; it's probably just me shouting out into the void.
The commercial aired between the years 1998 - 2002, between the hours of 6:00pm - 9:00pm EST, USA. It only aired a couple of times before it was no longer shown. ONLY THE FIRST 0:22 seconds of this song is used but, cut up differently than the studio version; its very likely that the commercial is 15 seconds long. The commercial showed a moodily-lit assembly line with early-CGI claw-armed robots carefully picking up a transparent blank card, setting it delicately on a nearby conveyor belt all while the classical half of the song is playing (00:00 - 00:09). Then conveyor belt leads the transparent card to a rhythmically pumping machine press, stamping the transparent 'credit card' with a blue square in the center as the more upbeat part of the song begins (00:15 - 00:22). The machine appears to be going to the beat of the song.
For some reason, I always thought this commercial was announcing a 'new' product/service the company was unveiling. To be honest, I'm leaving out some of the more 'elaborate' details since memory can be a fickle thing and I don't want to exclude any options.
This commercial has got the claw-arm bots but its not it, as this one appeared after mine aired. I always assumed American Express but anything with a transparency/blue square motif could work. I remember being impressed by the renderings in the commercial too, like it was something new to see CGI graphics in just a commercial.
I know it was this particular song because I already heard the song in its full form and was starting to get into the band and so was the other person who saw it along with me. I also don't know why we were all watching TV together and I don't remember what show we would all be watching. My best educated guess would be Battlebots or Robot Wars since it was a 'TV event' of sorts but nothing that can pinpoint an exact year. I still go thru compilations of commercials on YouTube hoping to find it but I haven't had any luck.
I partially think I dreamed it because it seems so unlikely some person making a commercial would use obscure song from a soundtrack for... a manga?
Thank you for reading my ramblings.

EDIT:
Well, beyond all odds, I found it and I honestly misremembered it after the years. I still think there's a different version that uses more of the sampled song but, I am happy with considering this found.
I'm still in disbelief, shaking at my keyboard.
