Back in 2012/2013, I recalled reading a children's book with anthropomorphic animals. The main character was a cat and he wore a pair of blue overalls. On the front cover, he is exiting the school building along with the other animal students. On the back cover, it shows his teacher getting frightened by a blob.
One of the stories is "My Homework Ate My Dog". On this page, the cat was doing an experiment only for it to go wrong as it morphs into a blob that ate his dog Fido. In another story, the cat and his class were playing instruments at music class. I also remembered that one of the students at his school was a snake.
