First time poster, these two films have haunted me for years. I've tried tomt and lots of other places to no avail.
So back in 2000-2003 area my mother worked for the ohio state prosecutors office and they had a room for children to hang out in; one time my mom had to bring 5 or so year old me with her to work and I basically spent my time in that room.
This room had 2 animated movies I have never been able to find since. They are definitely fairy tales and I assume they were part of a set together but I could be completely off base. They were both 'Disney like' animation but obviously weren't Disney.
The first one: A retelling of the little mermaid (i think). Key scene I remember is a dark haired woman standing on a tallship/sailing ship in the middle of a storm before dramatically jumping off said ship into the ocean. She might have had dark hair and I think it was sad. Probably a accurate retelling of the fairy tale if I had to guess.
The second one: Not sure what fairy tale. But 2 children, a boy and a girl had to hide from an evil queen and some nice giants(?) kept them safe by putting them inside of a cuckoo clock with a matchbox for a bed. The cuckoo clock had a track which a prince and princess figurine ran along. There was also a snowstorm outside. I know from lots of searching that it is not any version of the snow queen.
I remember my mom remarking that it was a weird woman who got the movies and that they were weird movies.
the little mermaid and snow queen would make sense to box together bc same originating author but i've had no luck.
