Im looking for the true origins of a ripped off font called "Crack Babies". According to this german guy that archives info on fonts release from the 90's - 00's "Crack Babies" is a stolen/riped-off font by a company called 'Herlitz'.

All I know about the original font is that its was licensed by ATLUS USA in in the mid 2000. So it was made before June 2000.

Now I need your help to find the true origins of "Crack Babies" and who actually made it and what the font's real name its ripping off.

Your help is very much appreciated

Update: I contacted the german guy from the website through email. He was of minimal help and only talked in short fragmented sentences. The only additional info gave me was the the font may have been created sometime in 1995 or before.

Sorry but that's the end of the update for now. Hopefully I can find some identifying info on this font's original creator

This is super interesting to me! Interesting enough to prompt me to finally make an account here to reply to this thread, haha.

What especially piqued my interest was the mention of ATLUS USA having licensed the original font. I've been playing a lot of Shin Megami Tensei and the Persona series for the first time over the past year, so seeing ATLUS here was a surprise! I checked the ripped-off font and it definitely appears to match the logo on the US cover art for the original PS1 version of Persona 2: Eternal Punishment. (With some minor alterations for design purposes.) I don't know how helpful this information is, but I thought I'd share on the off-chance that you haven't discovered this yourself and that it could possibly lead somewhere in your search.

Update: The search is over. Apparently the font is called "Lots of Dead Crack Babies" it from a now defuncted font design firm called "Casa De Toad Fonts". Here an archive link to their website showing off the font: web.archive.org/web/19990220160807/http://cdtoad.com/fonts.html
