I'm technically making my first post here, and I was going to make a completely different post at that, but today when checking around on Youtube I found something very important, at least to me.
The 1972 anime series, Hazedon, is partially lost. This is the first series animated by studio Sunrise, most well known for work on the Mobile Suit Gundam series among other long running and popular anime. The series itself was
Until very recently, only episodes 1-12, and 15-18 were available online, with no known home release nor home recordings beyond this point.
Was uploaded by Youtube user JH K containing the entire last episode in albeit poorer quality than any of the other VHS transferred episodes.
this is an incredibly important find, as finding other recordings, or even film reels of the series, is only going to become more difficult with time. Sunrise has yet to re-release the series on streaming and barely acknowledges it's work on it officially.
if ANYONE has any info, leads, or copies of this work in any form, please do not hesitate to speak up. If anyone has the ability to aid in the search, especially with the ability to contact relevant companies in Japanese, please consider contributing to the search for this series. Most anime from this time that are lost rarely get the attention or media coverage from lost media influencers or outlets online, and given how strict Japanese copyright is many Japanese users are unable to or afraid of sharing copies they might have.
