I have this vague memory of watching these live-action shorts about a little boy and his pet frog.
I believe they were part of a series, though I only remember two of the episodes. The first one was about the frog jumping around a public park. The other was about the frog getting lost in a French restaurant, and the boy having to rescue it from getting cooked by the restaurant's chef.
The shorts seemed to be about 80s-90s ish in film quality. Though the characters within the shorts seem to take place somewhere in the 50s or 60s. I remember that no one talked in the shorts, and I don't mean in the silent film way. There was still music and sound effects, but barely anyone actually spoke.
