Whoa that's an awesome find! I'm glad we finally have a visual. Looks like I was remembering it incorrectly as well, I thought the font was more similar to that stylized kind they used in some of the early commercials.
Oh yeah I remember the Nood! It always felt weird to have an anime character get one when I don't think there was any other anime that did. As for the disclaimer screen, you're right in thinking it was episode 140. There's a lot of discussion about that episode online and how angry everyone was that it showed up lol. One of the best threads I found discussing it is from the Toonzone forums- animesuperhero.com/forums/threads/naruto-two-heart-beats-kabutos-trap-talkback-spoilers.4494081/
The summary of the disclaimer from other users says >It was a shot of some part of the Ninja Academy with the swing from the 1st episode included. But the picture was blurred and it has black text with a white outline reading "The following program contains scenes with moderate violence. Parental discretion is advised." Not to mention the sound of birds chirping in the background.
But it looks like there were complaints on the thread about how no one got a screenshot of it, so even on this site none exist. I really thought I had seen this recently online which is why I remembered it at all, but I looked and it seems to be really lost. You can't really find episode 140 in any form, much less the CN one.
I will definitely cover this in a video, along with the RAWs (which I looked through more extensively on that website, very fascinating content) and the original topic of this thread. I'll keep both of you, syko and arian updated with the video. And if there are any other pieces of Naruto lost media we didn't mention here that you're aware of, feel free to let me know too. I'm aware of another search for a rare 3D bumper of the Lead Village that aired on CN Latin America in late 2006.
One more thing, I'm guessing the Naruto VHS releases in Japan used cleaned up episodes and not the ones that were originally broadcast which are lost?
This is a cool thread, I have a couple of these to recollect.
Most recently I know the Little Einsteins pilot was like this, originally a short trailer had been posted and everyone thought that was the entire piece. But turns out these clips were only cut from a larger piece of animation that's still missing and has grown into a much larger search.
For me personally, discovering that audio was recorded for the SpongeBoy pilot was a big one. For years I had only heard of the name change and saw that one animation cel with the SpongeBoy name tag, but had never even heard of an earlier recording using that name.
Also I would still like to hear some more information on the Invader Zim 3D test. Jhonen says it doesn't exist, but the director Steve Ressel said it was a test by an overseas studio. It seems like Jhonen said didn't exist because he wasn't aware it was made, but a lot of the older information that was passed around about it seems to be unclear.
And nostalgist32x what second episode of Dude This Sucks is there, was that the college beach party show? I think it might have been mentioned on an old website that talked about the original pilot.

I don't really have any suggestions since all the leads I know of are at dead ends. I guess you could try to find new names to contact and I can send them to the search team to see if they've been reached before.
Just don't post them publicly, if you find someone you think could be useful DM to me. But I think 99% of Nickelodeon Studios Florida people who are easily finable online have already been contacted.
I would like to think the people who kept messaging data about the video weren't from this community. The topic is big enough for that to be the case, and we had issues about bothering the video's original creator which have been addressed before.
Even back at the beginning of this lead, it always came down to waiting on the data guy to look through his files. No matter what his intention is now, it's still a waiting game. Like I said before though, I would like to think that if he really wanted to help out, he would find a way to reach out to you guys even after leaving the server. If he didn't even make it to his parents house yet, maybe he's waiting until then to reach out
Then again, maybe this was one big fake lead and now with the messages and the raided server he's decided to end the game. It's not like we ever saw proof that any of this existed, we were just going off of the belief he was telling the truth.
Still, I would like to think there's more to this and we'll hear back from him after everything related to the topic has calmed down again.
Where did you find evidence of the reaction video person coming back? I was interested in reading what they said about possibly having the video, but didn't find any replies with their last upload being 14 years ago.
I don't really have anything insightful to add other than the fact that it's unfortunate the server got raided. I'd like to think it wasn't the result of the link being posted in this thread but maybe it would have been better to keep private.
My only remaining optimism with the data hoard guy is the fact that if this is going to happen, I think it's going to happen no matter the circumstances. Hopefully other users involved with the guy have him added as a friend or have some other way to contact him besides the server. And if the guy himself is legit about getting the video to us, he'll definitely get back to us one way or another.
If data hoard guy stops responding just because a server got raided, I don't think he was very serious or even telling the truth about having it in the first place.
Third. I distinctly remember Episode 140: Two Heartbeats: Kabuto's Trap having a disclaimer in the Cartoon Network airing. My memory is very fuzzy, I apologize if this is 100% false information, but I swear, deep in my heart I recall this happening. It threw me off because it's the ONLY episode that had this. And it made sense to me because his beating heart pulled out was completely uncut. The disclaimer was a still shot of the Ninja Academy. I think it had a subtle bell sound(?) And text warning graphic content. It never left my mind and the only CN recordings I can find on the internet starts with the intro. Right after the disclaimer.
Is this screen actually lost? I definitely remember it happening as well, exactly like you described. It's the only episode I remember it airing on but I wasn't sure if there were others I was forgetting about. It freaked me out too, partially because how ominous it was but it also got me thinking there would be massive amount of blood or something unusual for the series.
Also I didn't know about those other Naruto oddities! That's really interesting, especially the original Japanese airings. I never even thought about the possibility of those just not being around. A few months ago I went down a small rabbit hole of older anime fansites from the late 2000s, places like SaiyanIsland.com that I had seen back in the day but never checked out. There was so much content those places hosted and now all of it is basically gone.
I would recommend checking out SewerReviewer's videos covering this topic before going any further. Rick Lyon is one of the oldest contacts and has been emailed about this so many times, I've heard he gets very angry when the topic gets brought up.
This is one of the larger problems with the search and why I personally don't think it's a great idea to reopen it right now. It's been going on for so long that nobody is on the same page, and I can't share any names publicly out of fear they'll be bombarded with emails.
With that said though, I saw DiamondCore sent me some names that I can check with Ber and SewerReviewer so maybe a new lead will show up from there.
Yeah like jbosco1982 said, it was a piece of concept art from a Billy and Mandy video game that people believed was from the pilot, before anyone knew Trepanation of the Skull and You existed.
I do think it would be fun to cover this theme again, especially since it's been so long since the first video. And I have to agree, the SpongeBob PSP Commercial would definitely be on the list.
For as much as I like lost commercials, there's no denying that one was really underwhelming. I thought for sure we'd at least get to see an original animation of SpongeBob besides his arms moving around.
I’ve been scouring some of the iMDB post-production credits for some of the shows released around this time and I consistently see a few names reappear, contacting those people could be a possibility maybe?
if you want to know I can DM you since I don’t wanna share anything publicly incase of trolls.
Sure you can DM them to me. I know for a fact people have looked there before though, even noticing the same people appearing several times. I'd be surprised if there was anyone new there but it's worth a try.
Ber, SewerReviewer, and myself all messaged tape guy periodically over the past year. The emails were probably about four months apart from each other, so I'm thinking it's a lost cause.
If you or anyone else finds a new name though, feel free to DM me and I can ask the group if it's someone that's been contacted before since I can't post the contact list here.
I would also advise against posting potential new leads in the thread in case someone tries to troll them, which has happened before. This is sort of another problem with the search, so much of it has become confidential it's hard to make any real progress publicly.
I'm not sure if this information was ever made public, but SewerReviewer was able to find out who avavideos1 was and contacted them. I'm pretty sure he got blocked and the entire lead ended after that.
I would have to go back and specifically look at who we've contacted, but I'm pretty sure we have contacted many post production people before. Specifically I remember emailing a few different editors who all worked on Nick Studios Florida content.
The tape guy wasn't post production but he did work directly on the pilot. In one of his earliest emails, he mentioned wanting to ask his old boss for permission to release it. I'm guessing his old boss was a former Nickelodeon executive and told him not to, which is why he stopped emailing us completely.
If someone can find a new name connected to post production from that time period, it could lead to something new. But the problem right now is actually finding new people we haven't contacted yet.
Once it's found, I'm sure it'll be everywhere for a couple days but then likely die down. I think it could become one of the more well-known commercial searches, but yeah not anywhere near the level of the decades long ones.
In fact if it wasn't for how long the search has taken, it probably would have had less of an impact overall. Though I still haven't gotten any word on recordings from that day. I think someone told me they had a tape from July 6th but I'm not sure what was on it.
That's gotta be it! It also lines up with what the Oswald creator said about it having been aired during a special event, but being unable to recall which one it was.
Everything lines up perfectly, it's very likely it was played more than once during that day. This is excellent winterkatzen now we just need to find recordings from that day.
I did a really quick look on YouTube and very little from the In Concert series looks like it was saved, couldn't even find any clips of Usher in it. I'll ask a Nickelodeon discord server if they have any recordings of the concert or anything from that day and time.
