There was a French article about Lost Media and the people who looked for it, covering the origins of the community from Reddit, the latest movies about Christine Chubbuck, the Crack Master adventure, the recent A Day With Spongebob Squarepants quest and of course, the Lost Media Wiki itself!
An anime about a hotblooded high school student, Hanamichi Sakuragi, who discovers basketball and progressively gets better... but contrary to many shonen heroes, he does not prove to be a sudden expert. He shows to have some potential, but along the way, he also has to learn some lessons such as patience, perseverance, humility and control.
The anime makes even friendly basketball games epic, without resorting to many cheap tricks. As Sakuragi learns basketball, the viewer also learns along with him. You thought sports were boring? This will renew your interest!
This anime also has a lot of humorous moments, usually from Sakuragi himself, who tends to be quite immature and not take things seriously at times. There are also some violent action parts, but they are executed awesomely.
I discovered this anime when I was 15... when I discovered subbed anime instead of the dubbed-censored ones I was used to in my childhood... great times... (along with the Ah! My Goddess OVA, El-Hazard and Edens Bowy...)
I swore to myself that I would never edit anything on TV Tropes ever again... mostly because it was too addictive... however, you cannot deny the website is useful, and can get some exposure. So here I am back. And enough time has passed for me to gain a bit more composure.
Say, you're right, this series, from 1984, seems to be impossible to find now... it only had 13 episodes... funny how these series seem to be shorter than how we remember them.
Speaking of, about the Chipmunks... there are several episodes of the 1980s animated series that are still lost, at least in the original English audio.
I just happened to have one of these episodes in English on a VHS, along one or two other episodes! I was a big Alvin fan as a kid, it's possibly my Number One Nostalgic Cartoon.
Anyway! Yes, Going Bananas... the only live-action show in this preview... kids are usually bored by live-action... but it has a monkey!! Monkeys are funny! Everything's better with monkeys!!
*angry orang-utan librarian jumps and hits me on the head*
And so, I have drawn another LMW-tan piece of art...
LMW-tan meets Trope-tan, the mascot anthropomorphisation of TV Tropes!!
TV Tropes has an article specializing in lost media that is called "Missing Episode"... a similar one is "Keep Circulating The Tapes" (which is usually not lost, but unofficially rereleased and subsisting in individual recordings).
No wonder the two "-tan"s would get along! (LMW-tan has even been listed on the Moe Anthropomorphism page!)
Wow, that's great we finally are in contact with someone from Reagal again.
See it sucks though because I feel like we have to word our questions just right or else we'll scare them off. As we've discussed before... just jump straight to the point and ask him about ADWSS? And depending on how that goes you could ask him about the other higher-ups at Reagal in one way or another, since chances are he knows them or worked with them.
And to refer to what kobochat said, I GUARANTEE you that once this is found, everyone and their mother will act like they were searching for it with us the whole time and they'll try and give themselves credit.
Either that, or everyone will just suddenly become interested in it again now that all the hard work would be done.
Look, this isn't an ego game... how much fame will be given to the persons who uncovered the A Day With Spongebob documentary? Except in this community, that is...
We are not doing this for the money or glory, but for the benefit of many viewers to see something they wanted to see, without constraints.
But it still is my first article exclusive to the new Lost Media Wiki !!
I encourage all of you to do the same... and to keep a certain level of quality control.
Loya... by the same creators as Isabelle, a weird French game you may have heard about after 1999... I first discovered it through a 0.5/5 review on AdventureGamers... it looked weird and intriguing! It was also given a "no rating" on JustAdventure, a "" by a French website and a 15/20 by another French website.
How lucky was I to find a CD around my South-East Asian neighborhood!! And what an experience! (I should get back to it to finish it someday)
When I heard on the official website that they were working on Loya... also named after the main female character despite her not being the center protagonist... (In Isabelle, the titular Isabelle is the girlfriend of the hero who narrates the story with him, but apart from being a self-righteous bitch, she doesn't do much in the game except sell vegetables and maybe help the heroes a bit) Seemed intriguing.
Yeah, I am sure many people will get interested by this; I am sure there will be more interest in this than Mario, Sonic, or whatever-game-some-famous-Let's-Player-has-made-jokes-on!!!
