Update: The DVD’s been out for a little while and does not contain the scene. The director, Domee Shi, just had an ama on Deviant Art, www.deviantart.com/team/journal/AAPI-Heritage-Month-Celebrating-History-and-Art-911008763, where I did ask her about the scene. Of course, I didn’t get a response, likely either because of NDA or my question being too far down for her to get to. One tidbit from this ama that could affect the search is one response where Domee states that she usually avoids social media outside of select updates from colleagues.
Now that it's confirmed it isn't in the home media, then it's the right time to do the search.
Try looking in the credit list and note every animator who worked on the movie, and go search for them online. It's a slow process, but one could maybe have the animation done or an unfinished version in their portofolio.

I have looked through all the animators who worked on turning red and despite me only looking for 1st search results and not looking at any other animator categories the one I did looked at had not protest scene and l think I know why. With the vimeo accounts of many Pixar Animators they had reels for each year 2020 2021 etc and with how 2022 is still on going l think there may be a chance that once 2022 passes that we will see more animators release turning red behind the scenes content possibly including the protest scene.

I agree with MassAttack, animators will probably just accidentally or purposely leak the scene with audio in some behind the scenes video

There's another lead that I discovered. I talked to someone on the Turning Red subreddit who had bought some merch from the film, which included a book titled, "The Real R.P.G." (a possible reference to one of the film's early titles, Notorious R.P.G.). What's notable about this is that apparently the book included the protest scene, I asked the person what happened in the scene and when it happened but have not gotten a response. I'm considering finding a copy for myself unless anyone else happens to have one.

Haven't had the time to obtain a copy of "The Real R.P.G.", so please let me know if any of you have any further info on that. On a related note, I found another reference to this scene in the film's marketing. There's a page on ArtSation for an artist at Disney Consumer Products named Kimberly Kha that features concept art for some of the character renders, www.artstation.com/artwork/aGbBOz. What's interesting is in the 12th image, there's concepts for the singing renders for Mei and friends (which can be seen on the characters' official Spotify playlists) and on the bottom right there's a version that contains Abby strumming a picket sign reading, "Justice 4 Earth," like a guitar, cdnb.artstation.com/p/assets/images/images/049/473/811/large/kimberly-kha-singingcons.jpg?1652591549; which is likely a nod to the protest scene because the sign that Mei holds says the same thing.

Been awhile, but 2022 is over. I'll try to look at the animators' stuff, but let me know if any of you guys manage to find anything as well.

I checked every animator listed and have found nothing so far, some haven't posted one for this year, some haven't posted any reels in years, some don't seem to have a Vimeo account at all, only a couple had reels with Turning Red clips but only from the final film.
There's another lead that I discovered. I talked to someone on the Turning Red subreddit who had bought some merch from the film, which included a book titled, "The Real R.P.G." I have gotten a copy of Real R.P.G and yes the protest in included. The protest does happen early in the story, with Abby's comment when we are introduced to the friends about 'burning this place to the ground" in the book is referring to the protest (which is against plastic cups being used in the cafeteria). However the whole opening of Real R.P.G is different from the final film (the only shared parts the photo shoots and how the girls appear when we see them at the school), with the plots syncing back up when watching Devon at the Daisy Mart. Honestly I don't want to spoil too much about the changes (it is written in a first person format by Meilin) but the book does have elements throughout of the girls' self insert 4*Town fan fic they are working on.
Apart from the opening there are also 2 other scenes in the book that aren't in the film. One is with Mei and her dad going out for doughnuts after the failed 4*Town concert pitch to Ming. The other one is after Tyler's party, it is a big family dinner out with all of the aunts and grandma. This dinner also has the extended family trying to arrange tutors to improve Meilin's poor Cantonese and Mandarain skills and are all shocked by her concern about her lack of time for extra study with her environmental activism.

That's neat, so I was right about the scene taking place right after the gang's introduction. And I like the new context given to Abby's line.
