AN EASY HUNT
Hello!
My name is Liam Gray, I am the creator of the hit indie XENOTYPE manga and the forthcoming WONDER ISLAND: HERO OF BRIGHTWATER manga available now on IndieGOGO. I'm returning to the community with an easy quest and some good news.
For those of you who may remember me, I had spent years on the hunt for an obscure cartoon from the 1980s about little robots, a scrapyard and a mechanic girl. I'd been searching for this series for years and had given up any hope of finding it. However, during one of my most recent livestreams the series was identified by one of my viewers. The series is listed on IMDB, under Robo Story. The series was developed by a a set of Twins that had become predominant Sci-Fi t writers and went on to work on early Doctor Who. While not the topic at hand, given the tremendous difficulty we experienced locating this series, I thought it was important to bring everyone the update.
Okay. Lets get to it...
THE ADVENTURES OF PETER PAN
The series is not lost, not per se. I can find the first five episodes with the English Dub online but the only coverage I can find of the series on youtube is the opening theme song and a random compilation of Wendy's bloomers and up-skirts (WHY?). After a little hunting around on Ebay and Amazon, I found a JETIX release (two different covers, it appears). It contained the first five episodes (which is where I assume the first five episodes online come from). However, there are apparently 41 episodes total and it appears that all 41 were dubbed into English. I did some digging and found that the series had apparently had a number of releases but nothing definitive and its unclear if any of these forign releases contained the English dub (of which, apparently TWO exist).
My goal is simple...
I want to acquire an English dub of this series in full, on DVD or Bluray or archiving purposes.
Baring that, I'd like to be able to view the full original series (with the dub) somewhere online.
Further Curiosities...
While digging into the series on anidb I found a connecting link to what I believe is a sequel OVA?
I am unclear if this is a clip show from the original or a sequel produced later, information on it seems limited.
PETER PAN THE ADVENTURE CONTINUES...
Making Manga and Comics fulltime is a daunting task at the best of times but the arrival of my new born daughter has extremely limited my spare time. So, I figured I'd be greedy and try to expand this Pan-hunt out a further step.
In the 1990s a Pan series titled PETER PAN AND THE PIRATES aired on the FOX NETWORK. Its a quite popular series with one of the better depictions of Hook and Neverland. However, I was only able to find it also had a JETIX release but it appears to never have been released in full. I do not know if this is true or not, or if there is someway for me to acquire this series in full on DVD and/or Bluray. If there is a release and its just rare, I'd love to know. I suspect it has only ever had a limited release, but you never know. I was able to purchase the full English dub of The Animals of Farthing Wood by purchasing the German version of the book.
Alright Lost Boys (and Girls) go forth and show me your perfect power!
BRING ME, PETER PAN!
