Also, if there's any artists you know, especially local ones, consider backing up their content as well. I plan on doing this once I can get my storage unit cleared out since I have an album from a group that has since split up and said album isn't online anywhere that I'm aware of.
This is why I don't want to go to New York or California or Texas, because they're home to the big companies that just want to horde anything from the smaller regions that they don't give a crap about. And they want to make sure that the US becomes more & more like the big 3 states throughout & destroy all of the cultures that are spread throughout all 50 states! They want the whole country to be just nationalized into one thing like with other countries that have no freedom of speech.
And that makes it even sadder; local content from other countries is essentially a very different story in that, unlike the United States, they don't have the luxury of even being mentioned. They'll just see it as just one unified country even though there will clearly be different cultures throughout the place, especially the Philippines.
That's why apart from a few VHS tapes I have, I'm fairly sure nobody else I know who is into archiving and tape trading was recording what I and my folks were back in the early 90s. I also doubt our local PBS affiliate even has a lot of stuff like their scheduling or partners on record from back then anymore. As an example, one of the local "commercials" I'd see on my tape was promoting a radio station that would play contemporary and jazz music every Saturday night on the air. When I tried looking him up, I found nothing, so who knows if any of his sessions were recorded or not.
My area isn't the size of Philadelphia or anything, but we sure as hell weren't out in the boonies or anything where the more rural counties probably have next to nothing now. I pity the places who weren't able to see or tape anything if it took too long to get to them, like with what happened with Turn-On. If they have it bad, I can only guess what it's like in other countries too, like with the smaller parts of Canada and their indigenous networks or places like the Falklands.
