The Archers is a long running British radio soap opera produced by the BBC, consisting of some 19,500 episodes; each are approximately 12 to 15 minutes long. Naturally, given its long history, the wiping of tapes by the production company at the time of the show’s early run, and sheer episode count, episodes have certainly fallen through the cracks. These range from the mundane parts - presumably about farming and minor drama in the village of Ambridge - to the death of Grace Archer, a rather memorable point in the show’s run according to longtime fans of the program.
The YouTube channel “Tom Archer” (named after a character on the program) also carries omnibus episodes; I assume these are also from the Mediafire collection, but it only goes back to 2008: youtube.com/channel/UCAiZxloJtnWFM6jpyagPjTg
An archive purportedly exists here: www.adrianbeal.com/archers2014/ - these seem to reportedly be mixed in content, but I cannot confirm this myself.
I am personally unsure how much can be recovered from this program, but as a popular British program to this day I can’t imagine a lot is truly lost. Who knows?
