If you saw repeats of The Ed Sullivan Show on PBS or the early years of TV Land, chances are you're familiar with a Italian puppet mouse named Topo Gigio The mouse has 2 films thanks to his popularity on Ed Sullivan, this lost film (The Magic World of Topo Gigio) that was released by Columbia Pictures in 1964 that was marketed with Ed Sullivan's endorsement
<- actual movie poster and the Italian-Japanese co-production "Topo Gigio and The Missile War" (mistranslated for english markets as "War of Button") in 1967
While "Topo Gigio and the Missile War" is on YouTube with its English dub overlayed onto the Japanese version, which can be found here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=MCS21BRXCs8 , The film "The Magic World of Togo Gigio" has never seen home media release If anyone wishes to hunt down a copy of this film - that would be wonderful!
I'm bumping this. I just started researching Topo Gigio and I was surprised to see this movie isn't available anywhere. It has ratings on IMDB, reviews and watches on Letterboxd, yet not a single documented place to watch it online from what I can find. All I can find so far is an assortment of posters and a presskit that was uploaded just last month. Where is this thing?
Have searches been done in it's other known names? It's known as "Le avventure di topo Gigio" in Italy, "The Italian Mouse" in the UK and "The World of Topo Gigio" in some parts of the world.
