Hi!
I make a podcast called Loose Lead Celluloid, and for season two I covered Santo Gold and the production of Blood Circus. I dug up some things I thought were notable and never see anyone talking about and don't think anyone knows about, and though I would appreciate a listen -- Loose Leaf Celluloid - Season Two: Santo Gold & The Catastrophe at Blood Circus available now on your podcatcher of choice 😎 -- I thought I would post the most notable things I found about Bloiod Circus, its re-edits and follow-ups
For anyone who wants to dig further, here's my source list for the season with everything I stumbled across

- On June 16, 2011, Santo Rigatuso copyrighted “COWBOYS,” a short story created in 2002. Noted to be adapted into “A MOVIE & PLAY,” it’s described with that trademark Santo Gold weirdness: “EVOLVED FROM COWS. COME TO EARTH TO DESTROY ALL HUMANS THAT HAVE ATE THEIR ANCESTORS.” (Registration number: TXu001753269)
- From paragraph thirty-three of the September 9, 2008 amended complaint and jury demand in the lawsuit against Santi White: “In 1987, Plaintiff produced a follow-up movie, using actual footage from ‘Blood Circus’, entitled ‘Blood Slam’, which again featured himself as SANTO GOLD singing and performing. ‘Blood Circus’ was shown in New York and Baltimore theatres and also was presented and screened by major motion picture studios in California.”
- From paragraph seventy-five of the September 9, 2008 amended complaint and jury demand in the lawsuit against Santi White: "Plaintiff has been preparing to re-release his original ‘Blood Circus’ movie, as ‘Santo Gold's, Blood Circus,’ on pay-per-view, video and DVD, featuring SANTO GOLD singing and performing."
- According to the Santo Gold website’s About Us page, the film was planned to be re-edited into “Blood Circus 1” and “Blood Circus 2,” both to be released in 2011. Both would feature Santo Gold singing “Santo Gold,” both would be over 90 minutes long (with “Blood Circus 1” noted as being “around two hours”) and would include footage thought lost for years. In addition, “Blood Circus 1” would feature “a separate detailed description that comprehensively shows step by step the actual scenes (movie footage) of Blood Circus 2 that explains to you scene by scene the entire story line of the Blood Circus 2 Wrestling Movie.” I have no words. (This description was first archived by the Wayback Machine on July 16, 2011, but it’s still up, including the 2011 dating.)
- Sometime in 2008, the Santo Gold website was updated to detail “Santo Gold’s Talent Search,” asking the reader to send in a sample of their talent for a chance to be entered into “THE TOP 10 HALL OF FAME!” First archived by the Wayback Machine on September 13, 2007, the original text notes that a small fee would be requested of you were selected, though by the time the page was next archived on September 26, the text had been edited to note that no credit card was needed (“IT’S FREE”), with no mention of a fee.
- A phoneline was set us, allowing callers to hear the film (for a $2 fee).
- Around the time of the Santigold lawsuit, someone was vandalising Wikipedia articles related to the singer and Blood Circus. One included a lengthy post on the user talk page for user 71.0.144.69, which I call the "The Absolutely Real, Totally Unbiased Biography of the Real Santo Gold," which has to be read to be believed.
