It is absolutely fake. I don’t understand why people are searching for the Spongeboy pilot when there's no legitimate proof it actually existed in the first place. We have the actual Spongebob pilot already that only aired once in 1997 and was released on an employee VHS. It’s very unlikely they went ahead with any animation prior to the Spongeboy mop copyright being found. I highly doubt anything actually exists other than sketches or storyboards.
People in the community love to make fake findings for views and attention. Just take the Cokeburst logo incident for example.

I think a lot of users here grew up when Spongebob was The Big Show. There's nostalgia and fascination in finding something "secret" from a show you watched as a kid. Same thing with the crew searching for Treehouse stuff.
"Weekend? It's Monday already."

I read the 'about' page of the uploader, and I found this.
* These videos are fake, they are part of an ARG (Alternate Reality Game). You can find versions that are not taped on my personal channel RUIEU.
So it's safe to say that the Spongebob Ahoy intro sequence is fake, but you gotta admit, that can trick a lot of people. I can tell by the comments that there are many people who thinks this is real or just questioning this.
