Hello. I've decided to post this thread under here because I remember so little about it that I can't even be sure that it exists, and I'm not even sure if it's worthy of a thread. However, if it is, I'm hoping that I can get some help looking for this webpage. If not, please let me know and I will remove this thread.
Anyway, my story starts about a month ago while I was at work. It had been a long day so far and felt myself slowly losing focus, so I decided to take a quick stroll around the office to give my brain a rest. This ended up having the opposite affect, as when I was walking past the break room I noticed that one of my co-workers was wearing a vest with red and black squares on it. To most people this probably wouldn't be distracting, and they probably wouldn't think anything of it at all. But I'm not "most people." Just something about his vest gave me this really bizarre déjà-vu. It wasn't like normal déjà-vu, though. It wasn't like I had been in that situation before, or that anything felt familiar about it, but it was just like, for a split second, his vest reminded me of something, and then it was gone. The rest of the day I got hardly any work done because I was beating myself up over what that reminded me of.
That night when I got home I decided to see if what it reminded me of was online (I'm not sure why, but I was desperate and it felt like it would maybe work). I looked up "red and black square vest," but nothing really jumped out at me. Then I looked up "red and black squares." Still nothing. It went on like this for a while, but eventually I got frustrated and decided that maybe in the morning I would remember it more.
The next day was a Saturday so I had some time to really do some digging. I actually did remember more in the morning, too. I had this strangely vivid memory of a website with red and black squares on it. I couldn't remember what exactly one did on it, but I still remembered it, and it was a big help. I searched through pages and pages of Google results for "red and black square website," to "red and black box website," to "red and black square game." Nothing. At this point, it could have just been a dream, but it would have been a very oddly specific dream.
Now, cut to a few days later. I've been searching on and off for a few hours each day for this website when something comes back to me while I am working. I don't know what made me think of it, but I got this feeling that I had found this page via another site called Bored Button. If you're unfamiliar with Bored Button, it is essentially a blank page with a red button that, when pressed, will take you to a random other interesting or weird site with the intent to cure your boredom. I don't know what it was that made me think of this, but I just had this feeling that that's where I found it.
After work that day I got on my computer and went to the Bored Button website. I feel like this is getting a little long so I'll paraphrase. I found nothing. No trace of the page. And believe me, I spent hours sifting through all the pages that are possible and all of the links on those pages, but I still had nothing.
However, there was one page that made me remember almost everything. It's called "Koalas to the Max." This page is very similar to the one I remember. I found myself remembering that you would click or hover over the boxes and they would divide into four parts. Also, I don't think there was any goal to the one I remember, like having to create a picture. I think it was just something to play around with.
At this point, my best guess is that the owners of the page shut it down. However, if anyone remembers this page, knows what happened to it, has any leads on what happened to it, or just has more time and is more patient than me, please let me know. This page is obviously no ancient artifact or important relic, so if no one has any ideas I will simply pass it off as a fluke and live with it. But just the thought that I remember it somewhat vividly but I can't find any trace of it is driving me crazy. But that's all for now. Thanks for reading.
