(it's been ages, wow)
I am trying to find a lost webcomic I wish I had saved around 2015 or so, and that I discovered in 2013.
Its name is Merbear and was posted by some "The KBA". The comic later moved to peaceforprofit.com and was apparently part of some competition (more details based on my sketchy reminiscence below).
Basically, using Internet Archive, I managed to find all that survived of the comic, particularly the first page: web.archive.org/web/20131126223030/http://peaceforprofit.com/merbearfolder/merbear1.html
So this is how the story went (I believe the page above isn't even the first one): the sea was being polluted by a bunch of people (IDK if they were merpeople) and Poseidon (depicted here with legs and riding a dolphin) was complaining about the subject. We later see the bear in the panel given in the link above doing some complaining about the environment. He says that he was going to take part in some constellation meeting of some sort, but he refuses to do so, He tries to go to the sea to solve the underwater problem, but fails miserably because he can't breathe underwater.
Later, he decides to oficially refuse his invitation to the meeting and tries to catch a shark. He later enters an animal mash-up facility led by a kangaroo with a snake's top half for a head. He says that he needed the shark's body to breathe underwater, and says that the process is irreversible. As a consequence, he becomes a merbear with a shark's tail.
He later swims to the depths and makes justice for the squid who was polluting the waters. The comic ended with the merbear saying that he would be stuck in the sea for the rest of his life. It ended with a "please save the seas" message.
A few months ago (back in October) I found an image of the titular merbear while searching for "merbear" on Facebook and it gave me a post that simply said "Merbear awesomeness" and had a picture that looked familiar to me, as it was the merbear from the comic in time to save the seas from the evil polluting octopus or squid or whatever. Here's the image (Imgur repost):
I also found this on an older Peace for Profit/The KBA website, and this apparently was the image of the shirt (it was apparently the winner of a shirt competition):
It seems that the comic was still readable in its entirety until 2015 at the very least. Peace for Profit is now a store (primarily targeting Native Americans in Seattle and making extensive use of Native American aesthetics) and the comics are no longer a part of the website.
The only viable option is talking to Gerrad Stockdale (owner of Peace for Profit and possibly the maker of this comic and a few other lost ones he made), but good luck trying to message him. It's going to be complicated.
