Howdy everyone,
This is my first time posting on this site, so please excuse me if I might make a few errors here (e.g. posting in the wrong forum or not provide enough information).
Anyhow, there is an educational computer game that I distinctly remember from my childhood. I cannot remember the title unfortunately, which is why I'm posting it in "Unidentified media" forum. I believe it was released in the mid to late 90s, because I remember playing it in the late 90s and very early 2000s. The game was essentially all about prehistoric fossils: digging up dinosaur bones and various kinds of fossils from a laid-out site, identifying them using a digital encyclopedia, and then using the bones and fossils to create a diorama at a museum. There was a large amount of cg-i mixed with the traditional cartoony flash animation throughout the experience.
The game was also hosted by a character whose name I also can't accurately recall - I believe it sounded something like "Mr E. Solver" or "Mr. E. Somner". Something I do somewhat remember, fortunately, was his opening dialogue when you start a new file in the game. Here is how I remember it (obviously it's not 100% accurate):
"Long, long, long ago, there were many plants and animals that do not exist today. How do we know this? From fossils. With fossil evidence we can piece together what life may have looked in the past. My name is Mr. E. Solver (or was it Somner?). I'll be your guide on your fossil adventure. Are you ready? Let's go!"
Now the reason I'm talking about this game on a Lost Wiki forum is because after exhaustively searching throughout YouTube and Google, I can't seem to find ANYTHING related to this game on the web. No videos, no images, no comments or forum posts mentioning it, nothing. I'm 110% sure that it existed and that I played it many times as a child. I'm guessing that it may not have been very popular when it came out or was possibly released for a very limited time or only in a certain region. Regardless, I'm a little upset that I can't seem to revisit this piece of my childhood at the moment. As you can probably tell, I'm pretty nostalgic for it and would love to see some footage or even just images of the game - like many other members of Lost Media Wiki's forums.
So with that said, I'd like to ask you guys if any of you are familiar with the game that I described and maybe have some information on it that I lack? Does anyone maybe know the title for the game? At the very least I want to know that I am not alone in remembering this game. Any kind of feedback or information would be really helpful!
