Brought this up in the ADWSS Skype chat but figured I might as well post it here too. Is there any lost media out there that personally relates to any of you guys? Doesn't necessarily have to be relevant enough to warrant an article on the site, just as long as it is both lost and related to you personally.
For example, when I was 12, I was in an episode of the Australian kids' nature show Totally Wild (it was filmed at my school and since I was one of the top performing students, I got to be one of the ten or so featured in the episode). Sadly, I don't have a copy, though I would be ecstatic if I were able to find one some day.
Anyone else here find themselves in a similar situation?

Not as interesting as your experience.I got alot to tell about my special little city though.
Around where I live we have alot of diffrent radio stations, 104.9 and b100 have been droped. 104.9 happened a year ago and it was out alt. Rock sation. It's gone and the building and every thing in inside it is gone, the sation was older than me. B100 was our new hits and pop sation and that left out of no where, with no replacement, with the building gutted once more.
All I can say is I live on the iwoa and Illinois boarder...we have alot of indices of wierd media, but we tend to hold on to them, our news and public broadcast channels ( kw, pbs, cw, ect) keep about everything...I wouldn't be surprised if we have an original print of a Charlie brown special.
Even my middle school had film tins in the library.(would be about 7-8 years ago) We where not allowed back there (it was the far right back corner with some vhs tapes) but I whent back there and it was 35 mm and 16mm film..all shorts but oddly in the full tin reels.
The reason I'm bringing this up is becuse, I sware on every thing that is holey, I watched the disney menstrual short. It hit me when they found the so called "full version" of it,
Though I watched the film in 4th grade (last grade of elementary school). The school bored though we should learn about this stuff now befor it was to late and to get us prepared for what going to happen. The males watched there version. Let me get to the point, sence I was so young and not paying attention. I did not rember it, but it stuck with me. I rember it was animated, dident talk about bleeding, and the end scene with the pamphlet becuse the teacher paused right there, and said "this video is much older but I knew it got to the point, so we do not have the pamphlet to use.
It was on vhs, so they transfered it. Our school around here do that alot, teachers use to trade of tv recordings too, for us to watch. Also most of our schools are pre 1950s, and if there not, other schools would pick though and take what they whanted for free. When the school closes or changes its location(It happens...alot) Also our librarys do the same thing...sorry for this very long ranbiling, maby I'll get the courage and start asking around my city for things like that :/ shit I live 10 blocks from all 3 of my schools....but I don't want to get called wierd and get rudely denied so I'm trying to find a cleaver way of doing it. Thanks for reading this long message though

Around where I live we have alot of diffrent radio stations, 104.5 and b100 have been droped. 104.5 happened a year ago and it was out alt. Rock sation. Pan-flit? Do you mean pamphlet? You may want to proofread your post. Why did the film about menstruation not talk about menstruation anyway? You mentioned a male version, but why didn't the entire class watch both versions? It would make more sense for everyone to know what goes on down there. We were taught about everything as one group. We started sex ed in Year 8, so just before high school. I don't know why we started much later than you. Was the male version ever found?

Yeah sorry I'll fix that.
The film talked about menstruation of course but it was very educational with out being too informal. (Unlike the ones you see today, talking about how to use feminine products and all that jazz) I diden't whant to go into detail becuse it too much for a fourm about lost media.
The rember the teacher saying something about, how some girls and boys go though this mutch sooner, and something about parents and the school board wating them us see it. I'm guessing we where the test rats. I asume they picked the only animated one that wasent gross to show to 8-9 years old girls. So I can see why we watched that one. I do rember one of my close friends actually freaking out about "haveing her period". Though I never asked a boy what they saw. I doubt anyone rembers anyway.
I have no idea why we dident see both films..we had sex ed later in 6th grade with both males and females.
I would see why disney wouldn't produce a male version of the film. I know he only had 2 girls and it was a big reason why he made the film. Also Walt Disney whent to Kotex (A feminine product company.) to get license to do the film.
Other than that, When doing a large library of any type of educational film. It's stupied to make one but not the other. So I believe there's a 75% chance that there is a male version of the film. That's only on speculation that my male classmates might of seen it, and it's stupied for the disney company not to make it. Other than that there is no proof sadly, I'm trying to find something on it though.

I'm guessing that if a male version did exist, it would have been shorter than the female video. There's not exactly a lot to talk about. Do you need a license to explain human anatomy or was the license just so that Kotex's products could be demonstrated? I had a female friend during the years that we did sex ed, so I'd ask her what happened on her end if the class was ever split up. It turns out that the female side was covered in full in Biology anyway whereas the male bits weren't spoken about at all.
I have a weird one. Its a direct to vhs show about a kid who is a tooth, his dog who is actually a toothbrush, and their friends. As a kid, I loved it and had ten vhs tapes from the show. But now, the puppets are creepy. I cant remember for the life of me what the show was called!
I rise from the ashes. Only to fall back in again.
When I was a kid, I lived in South-East Asia, and because I only spoke French as a kid with only knowing a few English words, it was difficult to find kid entertainment for me. Also, it was the early 1990s. The Internet didn't exist! I only had a few books, comics and VHS! Any new one that came was welcomed with open arms!
I remember that I would watch the same VHS tapes over and over again...
One VHS had part of a "Duck Tales" episode. I never quite knew what was going on - it was the episode where the Beagle Boys stopped time and I still remember Scrooge's money disappearing into nowhere - but I still remember the ads in them... especially one ad that had real live rabbits in people clothes, and some voiceover tried to make them talk like they were a family... it was for a brand of fruit juice, I think. I wish I could find this ad again...
Years later, in Thailand, I remember there were ads for Ovaltine on TV... one ad used the tune for "Sleeping Child" by Michael Learns To Rock to sing the brand's name. For years, the "Sleeping Child" music was the Ovaltine tune to me! At my school's theatre, some kids sung this song, and I thought they were reprising the Ovaltine ad!!

The Adventures of Timmy the Tooth. Interesting to note, there were TEN episodes in total, so you had all of them!

Oh. Thanks. Aparently, only two episodes are on the internet.

Really? Then again, it's not too concerning, because unlike the Loch episode of that McDonald's series, all the Timmy the Tooth tapes are pretty easy to find, I believe. It was apparently pretty popular back in the day (I mean, I'm not one to talk, I wasn't even a sperm back then).

If it was popular, the most viewed video would have more than 600 views.

I can't believe that after over eight months of lurking, this is the subject that makes me want to sign up (I'm a shy person, so participating in forums isn't really my thing, but eh).
I had several Timothy the Tooth VHS tapes when I was younger. I don't remember how many, definitely more than one, but the only one I remember is the one where they explore some tomb or something. But man, did I hate those tapes with a burning passion. The puppets were super creepy and I couldn't stand to look at them. We keep all of our VHS tapes in a revolving shelf with two sides, and I'd always turn the side with the Timothy the Tooth tapes back so it was against the wall where I couldn't see it.
One of my grandma's friends asked my grandma one day if we had any old toys we'd donate to her grandchildren so they have something to do when they come over to said friend's house. Needless to say I took that opportunity to banish that wide-eyed puppet tooth demon from our house forever. Sorry grandchildren, it's your nightmare fuel now.
I think it must of been at least somewhat popular back in the day if three people from a niche site such as this recall it. It's from what, the 90's? Only six hundred despite that doesn't surprise me. Things fade in popularity over time, internet videos only soared in popularity a little over a decade ago, and I don't know about you guys, but if I wanted to get all nostalgic and watch stuff from my childhood, Timothy the Tooth would not be my top choice. It wouldn't be a middle-tier choice either. I'd rather forget that it ever existed and go watch Legends of the Hidden Temple or Angry Beavers or something else instead.
Sorry for the long rant. I just really, really hated that tooth.
As for the actual topic, my answer would be Just for Kicks. I remember watching that show during the brief time it was on air and I mostly liked it because I used to play soccer when I was younger. It wasn't really good or bad, just kind of another "blah" preteen show so I don't really remember any of it. It was just something to watch when I was bored. I was so shocked to find out it's lost. It just feels so weird knowing that something that was right in front of me at one time is now completely unobtainable.

Just For Kicks has been found (the entire series!). Also, welcome to the forums, Bob! (wink wink)
