In 2009 an Italian director named Cosimo Messeri released a documentary titled The One Man Beatles, which was about American musician Emitt Rhodes. I have tried to find this film but am having no luck.
So we know it was certainly released, as shown by the Rhodes interview. However, it seems that you can't buy it anywhere and any link online either doesn't have it or is a seedy site that wants your credit card number. If anyone can help me, please let me know!

Are you sure that you have the correct release year? Because according to Rotten Tomatoes, it was released in 2013

There are forum posts on various websites (and the IMDb page itself) dated as early as 2009, as well as all the videos dated, at the earliest, 2009 as well.
Update: I have been unable to contact the director of the film Mr. Messeri. He has very little on him online - an IMDb page and a Facebook. However, Emitt Rhodes himself may have a lead if we try to contact him.
No contact has been made with Emitt, he doesn't seem to answer his phone often. Even so, I managed to find a clip from the film after going through several pages of Google, presumably in its original Italian dub: streamable.com/ebbwl.
Again, nothing from Emitt. Need to keep trying that line. However, I contacted Omnivore (the label he's signed to) and inquired about the film. They got back to me suprisingly quick, and responded with:
Wish we could point you in the right direction, but unfortunately we don’t have any info on where this can be seen. We tried, unsuccessfully ourselves, to book it at the Grammy Museum to no avail!
Hopefully it will be widely available some day..
That rules out Omnivore owning a copy. Currently, here's who we have on our list:
• Cosimo Messeri - no contact information found. • Emitt Rhodes - contact still being attempted. • Omnivore Recordings - no copy. • Tony Blass - need to find contact information. • Edoardo Scarantino - need to find contact information.
At this point, I have a lot of work to cover. I may not even have the right phone number for Emitt Rhodes, will need to check up on that.
Update: Emitt Rhodes has not answered any of my calls. Furthermore, still no contact information on any of the production crew either. This is an extremely difficult search.
EDIT: I have gotten ahold of Tony Blass's contact information - namely, his email. Now I just sit back and wait for a reply.
It's been a few days since I emailed Tony Blass. He has not replied to my email, and I have found contact information for his company, Field Dynamics. It seems that they're in the field of marketing research and are operating out of the city of Enicino, California. I attempted to give them a call, only to get their voicemail.
Update, sorry that I keep flooding this thread with them.
Tony Blass never got back to me, so unless I manage to get ahold of him through Field Dynamica, he's out of the question. That still gives me an opening with Emitt Rhodes himself but I doubt that he'll answer.
I could get in touch with Rhino Records (who premiered the documentary when it came out), so not all hope is lost.
The director even posted a link for non-Italian viewers to be able to watch the film.
Do you know the link Messeri posted by any chance?
EDIT: Found the link on a Facebook page for the film, which I had not found throughout my search, but it leads you to a live stream of the channel.
So far, I have not found it in Rai Com's archives; the word "Beatles" (being the easiest term to distinguish on the Italian webpage) brought up one result which was not the film.
