I was looking though the topic about the Shocktober bumpers that aired on Nickelodeon and I started doing some digging and came across bumpers from Nickelodeon’s Shriekin Weekend, which was another Halloween themed programming block. I remember seeing it back in the day. Shriekin Weekend seemed to take place in consecutive years (2005 and 2006 from what I’ve seen so far). What’s really interesting is you could go to nick.com/boo and create your own “scream scenes” for a chance for your scene to be selected to air on Nickelodeon. I was able to find the scene creator tool on the Wayback Machine, but when looking through the bumpers on YouTube I haven’t come across any viewer created scenes actually being aired.
Zombified reminded me of Shocktober, which then reminded you about this. Amazing what lost media can be interconnected and jog the memories of people~
I do vaguely remember various “make a character/scene and we’ll show it on Nickelodeon” types of promos, but I hardly remember seeing any actually air. I think it was a very short window of time when they would, and I doubt any of them would air more than once, which would make them quite difficult to find, but definitely worth keeping an eye out for!
Exactly, and with all these Halloween programming blocks there’s plenty to try to uncover. I’ve been scouring YouTube looking at Nickelodeon October commercial compilations but haven’t come across any of these aired scenes yet. However, I found a page on Wikibin discussing it and according to it 10 created scenes were aired everyday in October. I find that a little hard to believe because I think If they aired that frequently in that quantity then I would’ve came across at least one by now, but who knows. The search continues.
