First lostwave track I've been interested in in a long time. This song was mentioned around 5:41 of Todd in the Shadow's Trainwreckords video covering Nickleback.
Direct quote from the video:
My holy grail of lost media is a song that I've always, always, always wanted to get my hands on, but I have never heard, no one has ever heard, may not have even ever been recorded. It's registered on ASCAP but it has never been released and it's called "I admit that there was music" written by Chad Kroger and Carly Rae Jepsen. Yes the glamorous pop star and the butt-rock singer made a song together. A collaboration only possible in the incestuous Canadian music industry. Which of them was it for? Was it a duet? What could it even sound like? And what a title too - I admit that there was music. I mean, I admit that there was music, you will never hear it though.
I am so fascinated by this song, I want to hear the results of mashing up Carly Rae Jepsen and Nickelback so badly.
Carly Rae Jepsen Wiki's entry on the song - interestingly they mention there might be more than one version of "I admit that there was music" and that it may be linked to another song, tentatively titled "02/01/2003" which could have been a placeholder/early version of the song.
Forum post mentioning the song as part of a "rumoured 'Fake Track List' trolling the net". However ASCAP having "I admit that there was music" as well as potential alternative versions of the song showcases the song being very real.
Found an odd trend trying to find more info on this song. There's twolyric sites that have lyrics inputted for this song. Being curious to see where they came from, I copy pasted them into DuckDuckGo and found they came from the Broadway version of Cinderella. I have so many questions, but the answer is most likely teenage girls trying to fill in blanks.
