Beyblade Burst is a Japanese anime series produced by OLM, inc for the toy company Takara Tomy. In the west, toys are handled by Hasbro. Originally, 6 seasons were produced airing from April 2016- March 2022, and the series was concluded to prepare for the reboot Beyblade X in 2023. Takara Tomy’s final wave of Beyblade Burst products were released in 2022 without any show attached to them.
However, Hasbro, presumably not feeling comfortable releasing the last wave of product without a series to back it up, opted to commission OLM to produce a 7th season of Burst. This season, entitled Beyblade Burst QuadStrike, was produced exclusively for a western audience, and featured models of Hasbro's Beyblade products instead of Takara Tomy. It was announced in December of 2022 and premiered on Disney XD in the US on April 3rd, 2023. For some time, it was unclear how exactly the series was produced. Much of the previous staff of Beyblade Burst was credited, including writers. People debated on whether Japanese scripts were written and simply directly translated, or if a Japanese audio version existed to be used as a basis.
On the night of November 6th, 2023, licensing agency ADK Emotions accidentally uploaded the Japanese version of episode 20 to their Vimeo publicly. It was taken down a few hours later, but I managed to back it up and it’s currently available on archive.org. This confirmed that the Japanese version does in fact exist. Judging by the production card at the start, this episode was completed on February 21th, 2023, very shortly before the US premiere.
It is very unlikely the series will get a proper Japanese release. The anime for Beyblade X is now airing in Japan, and Burst is wrapping up internationally as well. As of right now, this may be the only episode we get.
