An Anime Series That We Can Not Find The Title Of

Hello everyone!
I am posting for a friend of mine about an anime that they saw but suddenly cannot remember what it was nor sure it can be found and I want to help them be able to find it if possible.
Their description of the anime:
"I'm looking for an anime. A boy gets separated from his parents on the way to magic school. The mom is pregnant, and he falls off a cliff while protecting her from bandits. He saves a princess from slavers, and takes her home, where he stays and trains his magic with her grandfather while waiting for a portal to open that will take him back to his parents. I believe the headmaster of the school will do anything to get him to go to the school. I can't remember if he ends up teaching one of the classes at the school, or if I'm getting that part mixed up with a different anime. Kinda similar to jobless reincarnation and wise man's grandson."
They could be mixing up two animes but this is the basic summary of what they are looking for! Nor knows if the anime came out this year or not, too. They also only saw it this year but no longer can find it nor can remember the name of it.
If you know, please let me know the name of it.

EDIT: My friend said that they saw it this year and the character had either brown or black hair. Also, they said that his character could have been reincarnated but still, that is a detail they are unsure of.
