Before anything, Hi i'm MMDLOID, I joinned this forum to Talk about this obscure Japanese game, so bare with me as I get used to this site. The status of DancexMixer is partially found.
What is Dancexmixer
DancexMixer; developped in 2008 and distributed in june of 2009 for Windows XP / Vista Computer by FrontWing (from what I recall). The central objective was simple: dress up characters and choreograph their dance routines to a tune of the player's choosing. The game provided stages upon which players could choses, blending fashion and dance. There's almost no information about it online that wasnt provided by myself. Me and my friends hold this game to heart, we decided to talk about it here after a complete year of looking for it's lost assets.
I archived the full game and you can ''play'' it here: download
I've included a tutorial video to install the game.
I came accros the full game on a Thai sims 3 forum years ago, somehow, decided to archive it since barely any information on this game existed online. The game was officially distributed phisically and digitally on this website but has been discontinued in 2012.
Here's the only image online of it's DVD ROM, apparently, it was subscription based, via a login wall inside the program. I'm oferring good money to whoever has this disk.
What as been lost?
Even if the full game is now archived a good portion is still lost, mainly all of it's DLC Listed here.
Which is actually pretty surprising considering how popular some of the character are, mostly VOCALOID 's Hatsune Miku and GUMI.
some video over on NicoNicoDouga and Youtube feature them, after contacting the people involved via Email or other means, I never got a single answer, sadly.
Unofficial lost media asset(s)
So, I won't get into that much, because they are user generated content, they are unofficial. but most of the Mods, that consist of adding piece or clothing, hair, head are lost, mostly all the mod for this game are now gone, beside this website that still distribute some of them (a big chunk is also dead). Tho, I will say that i'm still very interested in those.
What effort have been made?
We are a group of about 5 friend that have dedicated a big chunk of our free time to it, we are constanly looking for stuff related to DxM. We contacted Front Wing (the dev) about the posibility of borrowing the DLC item but never got answer from them, Directly that is. You see, They don't even display DxM on their own website as a game them made. I contacted them via the support email they provided on their official website because The DxM website didnt have support (deprecated), However, after sending about 3 email, they actually updated the Dxm website after years, making the support page of the DxM website supported again. However they also never responded to us. probably for legal reason, or maybe they do not have the DLC file anymore.
Beside all of that, we actually hacked the game almost in full with our own developped tool, making it possible for us 5 friend to Export it's game file, mostly Rigged 3D model. Sadly, I can't distribute them because it could be used as something to exchange to whoever has DLCs files.
The Partially found DLC character.
Stephanie is a character I didnt mention until now. she's a special character based on a real life singer of the same name, added as a dlc file, the official file for it is lost, however after hacking the game's data, some part of her was actually recovered, but not in full, it's unknown why these file are still in the main game, but it's speculated it was used for testing purpose. she's missing her Mouth morph, eyebrows morph and some part of her outfit. On the version I distribute it's possible to load her up into the game, however the game doesnt load her correctly.
Unknown Stuff
I'm pretty certain about anything I said here but I can't confirm them. Posting this here is quite scary for us considering saying we own a very very obscure game that almost has no info is pretty hoax like, but here is all the proof.
We also found some image related to the game from an In real life event in akihabara, Tokyo, Japan, but its purpose is unknown, probably just advertisement honestly.
Thank you so much for reading until here, you've contributed in the mediatisation of this game.. I know all of it seems so ramdom and maybe unclear, i'm sorry for it, but I still wanted to give it a shot, i'll respond to any question related to it in a hope to maybe find the lost stuff. I love this game very much and I sure do hope other people will get to know it by me.
