I became aware of this film, when i just recently bought the soundtrack from a thrift shop, i have already added it to imdb but now, wheres the film?
Here's what i know
1. it's "feature length" 2. the film was was made by the trucking company, Reimer Express Lines, from production to distribution, they did it all 3. it might of only been shown to employees, i have seen some indications that the soundtrack was only given to employees and if true, it could be the same for the movie but i cant confirm it.
You can find some of the crew including the director on the imdb page but take the genres with a grain of salt, i have no clue what it is and its just a shot in the dark.
i have the knowledge but i'm not good at finding old films and i hope by bringing it to attention, someone will find this oddity
It is the soundtrack to a promotional film for the trucking company.
From Amazon:
"...This album was released in 1976 by Reimer Express Lines Ltd., a Winnipeg-based trucking company. It's the soundtrack to a film produced by Reimer to tell 'the story of Canada's young and vigorous trucking industry and how it functions to keep this land alive.' ... (it was) recorded at The Little Mountain Sound Company in Vancouver (other bands who recorded there: Aerosmith, Loverboy, Metallica, Prism, Bon Jovi, Bryan Adams...and David Lee Roth) by recording engineer Geoff Turner (R.I.P.), and was written, arranged and conducted by Bob Brooks. ...it's a surprisingly diverse LP."
If it's a company-only film, it may not have ended up in the National Film Database, but you could try asking them anyway.
Reimer Express still exists as a part of YRC Worldwide. Somebody at that company might still have a copy. They have a timeline that acknowledges the film's existence.
The back of the case shows a man who I believe to be the company's CEO. Thanks to your IMDB page, I can confirm that the man is D. S. Reimer. D. S. Reimer's family could have a copy somewhere.
Discogs sys that there was a marketing effort for the soundtrack, so the soundtrack probably had a public release. It's strange that they would release the soundtrack to the public without releasing the accompanying film.
