My older sister (late 1990s, early 2000s) recieved this doll from an older church friend who found the doll at some sort of yard sale or thrift store. The tag is too faded to identify what company could have made her, and Google Lens can't identify her either. Unfortunately, that's all the information we know. She means a lot to my sister and I was wondering if you guys could help figure out more about her?

The closest doll I could find was this doll on Etsy which looks like it has a similar shine pattern on the eyes.

The seller says the tag labels the company "Avon Products, Inc" and the year 1991.

I also wonder if it might be some Holly Hobbie knock off, because her face does remind me of her.

I did some quick looking-up and she very likely isn't a TY doll, as their material and facial structures are different than hers.

I'm not sure she's a Sugarloaf Sweetiemine doll. She's more flat than rounded like the dolls, and her face is inked rather than embroidered on.

Doing some searching on the doll line, though, I did find a 1988 Dolly Mine doll who looks eerily similar to the doll my sister has, but with a slightly different eye shape and lips. In a roundabout way, this is actually a lead, I think!

Sure thing! It's more of a logo than text, but you can try! My sister's name (Emily) is written on the tag but hopefully that won't be too much of a hinderance.

From what I can make out from the tag, it looks like there used to be an illustration of a pink bow that's now faded. A lot of eBay sellers will take photos of toy tags in their listings, so this might narrow down the search.

Other things to note: Looking at the doll, I think it was made sometime in the 80s/90s and is not newer. The style reminds me of (like someone else said) Hollie Hobbie and Cuddle Wit dolls.

I will continue searching when I have some free time, but I recommend checking a site called WorthPoint. It has archived eBay listings. You need a membership to view the prices of items, but that shouldn't be necessary in this situation. Search for something like "Vintage Rag Doll" and narrow it down even further with other terms like "Glasses" and "Blue Dress" if you aren't getting any good results. Best of luck!!

Probably won’t help but my little sister has 2 plush dolls that this sort of reminded me of I checked the label and the brand is called candice but the logo is different and when I search for the brand it won’t come up at all (to be more specific the logo is plain black text with two simplified animal silhouettes I think)
