Hi. I need help finding this app that released for the Wii U called “出前館WiiU.. (which translates to delivery hall Wii u.) This was a version of the Japanese “Demaecan” service for Wii U, and was released sometime in 2013.
I’m not sure if this counts as lost media as there is some documentation of it on the internet, but currently there’s no footage of this thing in use, and the service has been discontinued for years, which means you cannot use it.
I want to find footage of this service being used, because the topic just fascinates me so much.
It’s weird how its wii version is so heavily documented and even got revived, yet the Wii U version has almost no documentation anywhere.
I’ve basically looked everywhere for any clues on how I could find footage of this app being used. I got in touch with a few people who I saw mention the app in tweets from like 2013, yet they said that they do not have any footage or even recollection of using this service.
I also tried contacting demaecans customer service email, as well as their twitter account to see if maybe they could help, but unsurprisingly, they didn’t respond.
I have a few old websites covering the topic, as well as some screenshots of the app, but as I said, there’s no footage of this thing anywhere.
The Wii U demae channel was browser based, which means that it was just a website injected into a WUP file. This means that reviving the service wouldn’t really be too hard I think. It would probably be easier than bringing back the Wii version was, since all you would have to do is maybe make it redirect to a different website.
Currently I’m trying to find out more about this service for a video I’m making. I tried dumping the game through “dumpling” and looking through its files, yet I’ve come out basically empty handed.
I’m sure I haven’t checked EVERYWHERE, as I’m certainly not experienced when it comes to finding lost media, so if you know how I could find footage of this thing or even just some new images aside from the like five I have now, please do tell me.
