Here's an obscure cancelled Disney animated movie that seems to not have a whole lot of information on it yet for an article. If I find more on it, I might change my mind, but for now I am placing it here.

Cosmic 3000 (also known as Galactic) was a Disney movie that began some point in the early 2010s. Little is known about the development of this movie or why it got cancelled, but the known names behind Cosmic 3000 moved onto the production that would eventually be known as Raya and the Last Dragon, so perhaps that movie was seen as the stronger story/better priority.

All that is known about Cosmic 3000 is concept art and a vague story-line about alien race car drivers.

Some more potential concept art from this has been uploaded to the Lost Disney tumblr account, however even they aren't 100% sure it came from this lost project. They are pretty good at finding rare concept art though, but take the source of it being from this movie with a grain of salt.

What a shame this movie never went past the creative stage. It would have looked absolutely amazing, sort of a Lilo and Stitch extended universe with such alien and spaceship designs. I lowkey miss space cartoons. They always had artistic freedom tied to it.
I assume this article talks about Cosmic 3000, as it mentions the director Dean Wellins and his "planned project":

"One other project is in development from Dean Wellins that is the other CG animated feature, it is in the formative stages as well. Again, the story is very unlike what we've seen in the past, but we will wait to see how this one evolves. It all depends on how the development process goes, but the direction that John and Ed have now plotted is far more interesting than the original line-up a few years ago."

Judging by this forum it only seemed like a "good idea" project, which sadly was shelved due to stories with more potential taking up first slots in movie making queue.

I wasn't able to find anything more.

Did some more searching on this topic and found some stuff.

First, let's get the most grain of salty out of the way - bcdb.com lists this movie as "Teenage Space Race Film" and has this under its information:

Originally slated for release on November 30, 2018, this project has been subject to various story problems and is not on the current release schedule.

Which isn't a whole lot and very dubious, but still pretty interesting regardless. I looked it up, and on November 30th, 2018 Ralph Breaks the Internet released, which makes it likely to be the project that replaced Cosmic 3000's production slot.

IMDB lists Andy Sadhwani as a "science advisor" to Cosmic 3000, though I am not sure where this information would have come from.

I found this piece of concept art in a site called universodisney that I haven't seen elsewhere yet.

I found a forum post from a French Disney fan forum discussing the movie. The most interesting about it is a fake image of Disney's schedule from Tumblr, which the "Galactic" name seemed to come from (possibly confirming Galactic was never a name given to the film).

As well as a potential timeline

This schedule should therefore be taken with a grain of salt while awaiting official announcements from Mickey's firm.

I have found a blog post that mentions multiple cancelled movies (which I also linked in the cancelled movies thread) that mentions the movie. Not very much on Cosmic 3000 though.

Being a movie about space race car drivers certainly matches up with the blogger's description of being "unlike what we've seen in the past".
