This isn't a specific search, more of a psa. Please save as much as you can. The Internet Archive is in danger of shutting down do to copyright lawsuits. I’m no expert on the subject, but so much media could be gone. It (the case) seems to be targeting books, so start with that. Just archive whatever atp.
This seems more ramble-ish than informative, but this truly makes me sad. IA is an essential tool.
Could you be more specific about the lawsuit and what in intails?
From what i've heard this lawsuit isn't trying to shutdown the whole IA, just make it so that you can't borrow entire books on there anymore. Also IA is currently appealing the ruling and there's a good chance that will succeed. So even if the appeal fails IA will still be around, you just won't be able to officially borrow books on there anymore(though I suspect people will upload books on there anyways in PDF format so people can download them themself so in practice I don't think this lawsuit will do much).
This means A. Lots of lost media to find and B. Probably no Wayback Machine.
No the Wayback Machine itself isn't part of the lawsuit, the publishers just don't want IA to have entire books that people can borrow from their site anymore, anything else on IA won't be affected by the lawsuit.
There’s going to be a lot of stuff that was once rediscovered to become lost once again except permanent this time.
no this lawsuit is only targeting IA's book-borrowing program and nothing else, the films and TV show and other stuff on IA isn't going anywhere. Even if they get sued plenty of people are willing to donate to IA to pay off whatever damages they get hit with, this isn't going to be like Gawker(which most people didn't like anyways so few people were really sad to see that awful gossip rag site go anyways).

Thank goodness! I’ve heard a lot of negativity around this ordeal. I wrote this originally when the suit ended and kinda jumped to the worst (something i tend to do lmao).
The Internet Archive says it will continue acting as a library in other ways, despite the decision. “This case does not challenge many of the services we provide with digitized books including interlibrary loan, citation linking, access for the print-disabled, text and data mining, purchasing ebooks, and ongoing donation and preservation of books,” writes Freeland.

Yes, i now understand this! Thank you! I posted this as soon as the suit ended, and I guess I wasn’t as informed as I thought.
I’ll probably be deleting this thread soon. I apologize to anyone I may have worried with this! It’s my fault for not being too informed and thinking with the heart more than the brain. I’ll link some well informed info on this suit and will step back from responding.
I’m honestly new to lost media searching (i’ve observed the community for a while now), and really thought I was doing something! I still want to help out around the community, but maybe I’ll stick to media searching!
Again, my sincerest apologizes for possibly causing fear with this!♡

Phew! Thank goodness for that.
Why wouldn't this situation cause a cascading event?
