Surprised I haven’t seen any discussion about this anywhere, so I thought it would be better to start a dialogue on here, since this holds quite a lot of personal weight and everyone here is so dedicated and interested in stuff like this.
I’m 18 years old, and when I was a really young child, I used to watch this show that aired on Milkshake, a British television programme that would air in the morning on Channel 5 here in the UK. I must’ve been around 1-2 years old when I first saw it. The show is called Mechanick, and to put it as bluntly as possible, it was about a mechanic named Nick. It was nothing special but I was apparently enthralled with it, watching it whenever it was on the television. When it stopped airing, my parents noticed how upset I was and contacted the creator of the show. Supposedly, he had a falling out with the higher ups at ITV and they cancelled the whole thing due to mutual disagreements, but he was nice enough to send them a physical copy of the show on DVD for me to watch.
I still have the DVD - it has the first 7 episodes of the first series and some bonus features, meaning it must’ve been at least somewhat popular. I did some digging online later on and according to the Milkshake! Fandom site, there were a total of 80 episodes that aired in the years between 2003-2004. I was under the impression that the show was so short lived they only produced a handful of episodes, which is why I was skeptical at first. However, after doing more digging I found that a YouTube channel posted a song from an episode that wasn’t on the DVD titled “Noise Annoys.” The song has the same title as the episode and was found on a compilation CD for all the Milkshake shows airing at the time, so there’s at least some truth to the statement that more episodes were made, but regardless I hope to see the whole show found one day just to archive it.
Another interesting find I came across was an episode that wasn’t even on the fandom’s airing list, which was called “The Radio Controlled Boat.” Trying to look this up online would only yield one result, titling it Season 1 Episode 0, so possibly this is a pilot? I don’t know, I don’t think the whole series will be found anytime soon, but any help would be appreciated.
