That is just cows mooing from the special end credits used for Texas/Walking Small.
I remember hearing about that version of the logo, I’m not surprised it’s being brought up. Is it the only version of the logo custom made for a certain episode?
No, a few other episodes, usually the specials, have them, such as Scaredy Pants/I Was a Teenage Gary.
I remember it in the 'Sailor Mouth' episode on a DVD that was recorded from TV. But that DVD is long gone. Maybe it's in the premiere for that. I can't find the end credits for that episode in a premiere, so maybe...
You actually remember the logo? It was the real thing, and not the cow version or a sound from the commercial playing during the credits?
Nickelodeon used to air a ton of one off oddities, some of which I feel like I remember but lack any kind of evidence online which makes me more willing to believe that there is a small yet distinct possibility of there being one or two instances of someone at nick deciding to change the sound effect on the specific cut of the episodes airing for some reason before reverting to the original and that version never being heard from again. That being said Spongebob lost media often tends to link back to weird childhood memories and that isn't always perfect so other theories proposed are also worth considering.

This might sound like a longshot, but I had the thought it might have been an old youtube poop/edit/meme some people are remembering. Having a ytp replacing or adding a loud obnoxious sound isn't uncommon. It's not farfetched to think theres an old ytp that "deceives" you by ending the video normally, then added a loud fogorn (or any noise) to scare or earrape you
This topic already has a lot of traction to begin with, l just hope that this topic reaches the right people with recordings of the event if it's actually out there
Why does this even matter if it's basically not the official release version of the credits and just a weird one off for tv airings that is likely being misremembered...

Because if it is real than it is an interesting footnote in the history of a show that many people care about and another cool TV oddity for us to search for and discuss. Even if it isn't it can serve as a future case study in determining between real and fake lost media given how much of the discussion has been regardling it'a validity. In addition it helps bring attention to similar cases of nickelodeon obscurities which may aid future searches.

Very nicely put. This is obviously something that may or may not exist, and while the likelihood of “may not” might make it seem like something that should just be disregarded, it’s still (if nothing else) a great example of a Lost Media hoax, since it’s something people have been lead to believe for years now and which a few people even actually seem to remember.
Do you have a description of what the foghorn sounded like? Was it loud, quiet? Did it make the sound twice or once? How long was it playing for? Can you recall?
