After years of waiting someone to post it online, I felt like it was time for a search to begin. Not a big search, mind you, just a simple but meaningful one.
Here's the case : on the Nintendo Wii (specifically starting at the Wii model 2 and also present in the Wii U Wii menu) there is a type of channel that hasn't been documented yet despite being in plain sight : the channel preview ones. You see, in those versions of the Wii, there exist pre-installed channels that are simply previews of channels like the Nintendo Channel, the Everybody Votes Channel, the one channel that serves to transfer data from Wii to Wii U...you get the idea.
These channels are basically a series of postcards (well, not postcards in the aesthetic sense, I mean simply portrayed as little windows with a picture), each with text and a picture to promote different features of the channel. You can choose two buttons at the bottom, one on the left to leave and go back to the Wii menu and one on the right to go to the Wii Shop and download said promoted channel. And here's the lost media gold to find : in these channels, there is a beautiful soothing totally wii-style music playing in the background as well as the same nice sound effects when pressing different kind of buttons. Not the music nor the sound effects have been preserved on the internet, nor even a transcript or video footage of their texts in all languages. These things are the target, especially the background music and sound effects.
Good success everyone, let's get these things preserved!
Thanks for the reply. No, those aren't what I'm talking about. I mean the preview channels you can find pre-packaged on Wii and Wii U. Those channels (or "apps" if you preffer) are essentially previews for existing channels you can download on the Wii Shop, presenting these channels and what they can do, in a text and picture form.
