Blood Circus is confirmed to exist (possibly in pretty good shape) but it is still unsure who has it. I may be the only person to care, but all episodes of Unwind with the Sweeties are also confirmed to exist, but the person in possession of them currently refuses to release them.

The guy who made Blood Circus died a few years ago so that increases the chances of us seeing that film as he was notorious for being cagey about releasing it(at one point trying to sell what he claimed was the print of the film for millions on Ebay).

According to whoever it is that runs his website, they are still "looking for distributers" for the film. It is unconfirmed, but Alamo Drafthouse allegedly did a screening of it in 2014, so that may be a good bet as well.

There were three episodes of the Playhouse Disney show “Out Of The Box” that were shown when the series was first premiering, but never rerun, and were remade for season 2. They definitely were aired, but technically aren’t part of the actual season since they were only shown once, and aren’t on the official Disney+ release. It’s not impossible that a recording could surface, but it’s pretty unlikely.
I wonder why they refused that film. I wouldnt mind that, I think its a horror movie involving pro wrestlers.
I kind of wonder if half the time the creators of these medias dont release it is cause they themselves lost it and cause of embarrassment? dont just tell, idk maybe im overthinking it. Cause Ive talked to writers of shows and often they come at me with I forgot answer.

I'd love to know more about who these distributors were that he was in talks with, but I remember the Alamo Drafthouse did a screening and that I think it got them into trouble with Santo. I also recall hearing that a reported copy of the film was sold at auction, but the highest bidder was anonymous. This puts it in a weird space where I'm not sure who this would legally belong to, unless Santo's estate is still working on that if he had anyone working with him.

Nah, you aren't overthinking it. Things going unreleased can be for a number of reasons.
They aren't able to find distributors who want to pick it up.
The project was abandoned or scrapped [ex: lack of continued interest, internal conflict, scheduling, bankruptcy / financial problems etc...]
Poor marketing and promotional means
Personal disinterest or embarrassment
Legal troubles
Censorship laws
And so on.
A prime example I can think of for troubles with finding a distributor is Bloodstream (1985); a low-budget horror revenge thriller centering on a filmmaker who, with the help of a secretary from a sleazy film distribution company, seeks to get revenge on the company for striking it rich on one of his films after firing him so they wouldn't have to give him his cut of the earnings. It was self aware about abuses in the film industry and became meta, sadly. The film eventually showed up on DVD bootlegging sites and got distribution, but still remains to be the director's least favorite film of his career.
For projects that were abandoned (but would be rediscovered decades later), there's always The Basement (1989); a shot-on-video horror anthology spanning four stories and John Waters' Dorothy, The Kansas City Pothead (1968). I think John said DKCP was abandoned due to technical problems, but I haven't been able to figure out why The Basement was abandoned. The most I was able to find was that he abandoned it to go work on Ghoul School (1990), which lead to the project being shelved until Camp Motion Picture recovered it and released it as part of a five or six film set (along with Captives (1988); another hard to find exploitation horror revenge film). If you're able to find a copy of it, you can see how rough it is and that it feels unfinished.
Uncle Tom's Fairy Tales (1969) is another one, but it's hard to fully say why it's gone unreleased - unless the plot summary is enough to make guesses and the star, Richard Pryor going to file a lawsuit against the director and his daughter for allegedly trying to steal the last surviving copy from his house. It's a wild ride.
Brad Jones(AKA the Cinema Snob) shot a horror film back in 2003 that he wasn't particularly fond of and he has the only known copy of it but refuses to release it. He also did a project called "Shit on Shitteo" which was completed but never released due to a fallout between him and the lead actor(who IIRC slept with his then-girlfriend behind his back).

Ooh, was the movie Freak Out by any chance? I could have sworn Brad hosted it on an older version of his site way back in the day, along with Cheap. It's a shame that he doesn't plan on re-releasing it if that's the case since it would be interesting to see again for some minor nostalgia, even though I stopped being a fan of his years ago. I also didn't know that about Shot on Shitteo, thinking you meant the mini series he did. I think along with Jake being fired, Allison probably wouldn't be happy to see it drop either. Given the time frame, I wonder if it was with his ex, Violet, which is just...wow.

Yeah I believe it was Freak Out. Looking up SOS it appears Jake got fired before all of his scenes were finished, but I did actually find a website selling DVD copies of the film, not sure if it's legit or not: DVD

From the way it seemed, Santo knew that this film was sought after (hell, his website uses the word "lost" whenever it can to describe the movie), but I think he honestly wanted a quick buck more than he wanted fans to actually see it. I can honestly just see this movie sitting in limbo for eternity just cause his estate wants money out of it. I always wondered if Alamo actually kept a copy, but with the site it was shown at having shut down recently, it is getting hard to check.
Any HQ footage of the original 1979 run of the Sweeney Todd musical by Sondheim. That first version of the musical had Len Cariou as Todd; just for that one year, before being replaced by the more well known performer George Hearn starting in 1980.
