Okay so I had a thought and wonder if anyone collects anything? I don't have a lot of stuff to collect but I have some Animal crossing Amiibos (specifically the cards since some animal crossing figures are hard to find where I live), some lego ninjago figures (I am planning to collect more once I have more money and a bigger shelf for the bigger sets like the dojo and dragons), and some of the Disney Infinity figures (I stopped collecting them since the company who produces them shut down)

I collect movies on all formats, of all genres and decades. I only just started getting into Italian cinema, maybe I'll keep going with other foreign cinema next. I just love exploring what this medium is capable of in all its forms. I love all forms of media but movies are just really special. They also have so much offshoot media around them to collect--like trailers, posters, soundtracks, magazine articles, reviews/analytical editorials, etc.
Italian movies from the '50s and '60s are what I'm especially into now. I can't really explain it in a forum post and this thread isn't the place, but there's just something so unique and effective about them. Like the West coast music scene in the late '60s or the Italian renaissance, just lightning in a bottle, the right people in the right places at the right time to make great art happen en masse.
I have a coin collection but I haven't added to it in a a long time. My grandad started me with it as a kid as he had a coin collection and gave me some of his and I have coins dating as far back as the mid 1700s and coins and banknotes from all over the world. I also have a collection of natural history books since I have been a big nature lover my whole life and I love researching anything about nature. Mostly on Lepidoptera (Butterflies and moths), insects, birds, wild plants and also histoy books and quite a few other books not related to nature or history. Since I am such a nature lover, I have a collection of shells I have collected from coastal areas I have been to (and one fossil Ammonite) and want to keep adding to it when I can.
I have a large collection of documents on my family genealogy and history as well .
I have always wanted to start collecting vintage camera lenses as I love photography and taking videos and would like to adapt a few old lenses onto modern cameras to take videos and photos with artistic look that you can really only get from old lenses, but I just don't have the room for those. I am also facinated by unusual storage media but don't have the room for collecing those either besides having a number of different optical disc types. I used to build and collect model airplanes and one battleship, specifically WW2 era as I like old airplanes but I don't have the room to get more.

I collect all sorts of things really, comics, sold-as-blank VHS tapes, figures (of the action and miniature variety), Lego stuff, books, video game magazines, but my pride and joy collection wise is my console and video game collection. It's not that large or anything (although I am proud of it's breadth) but I've been building it up the longest and so it's been a part of my life for a very long time.

i like to collect vinyls, i dont have much yet but once im an adult i can hopefully buy more as well as other music formats like cassettes and cds cause A) i like to have physical copies of my favorite artists and B) i like to interact with these formats cause they have neat things about that i like about like the cover art and the information they put in the back of the cover.
all tho i havent started i want to collect video games sometime in the future
It can be a really rewarding hobby, although be warned, prices are kind of crazy at the moment on some stuff and have been for a bit. Gamecube stuff comes to mind. A friend of mine was able to sell a Gamecube with 2 of the Resident Evil games for like $150 and that was last year. I'm pretty sure they've gone up even more since. But most other stuff from that gen is still affordable. 360/Wii/PS3 stuff is still mostly pretty affordable too so now would be a good time to start collecting for them. A lot of stuff for the 7th gen consoles is in the trough of it's price curve so to speak.

Oddities and taxidermy, for the most part. I haven't been able to add more babies to my collection yet since it can get pretty expensive and I don't have a ton of shelf space now. However, if I ever come to a lot of money (and space), I'd love to return to that and acquiring more movie/horror memorabilia; especially if the pandemic ever goes away and I can go to conventions again.

I collect some LEGO too.
The minifigures from the Disney CMF blind bags is a personal display of mine.

When it comes to Lego stuff I've mainly collected Bionicle. Never been a big Minifig guy myself. But I definitely see the appeal (I am an action figure guy after all).

I love collecting weird pieces of media, especially if they're really obscure or completely undocumented online.
I've collected pretty much every kind of media at some point. I started with retro video games, then got into horror/sci-fi movies, then independent music, and currently books (mass-market paperbacks from the 60s through 90s and vanity press novels). My room isn't nearly big enough for all these hobbies, lol.
Hoarding obscure self-published music on the off chance someone misses it.
