Hey, gamers.
I'm wondering if anyone knows more about this unless it's just a rumor or flat-out untrue.
While I was watching some of Joel (Vargskelethor)'s recent streams about the definitive versions of the GTA trilogy, at some point, he asks if the audio sounds different to the people in chat. I want to say it was his run of Vice City, if that helps. Anyway, someone in the comments said that the masters recordings for Vice City and/or San Andreas are lost, which made sense to Joel why it sounded compressed. If it was in the Vice City stream, I don't have the time stamp code offhand, but it's up on YouTube if anyone wants to find it. I've only ever been a casual player of the trilogy, so I'm not sure how true any of this is. I've tried looking for information on this, but a Google search only gives me tech threads for how to fix audio problems with the game. IMDb isn't of much help either since nothing comes up in the trivia section, with the closest thing to "lost" media you get is about the "hot coffee" cut scene, but even then calling that lost is such a stretch.
So, for any Rockstar fans out there, what's that about?
I do remember hearing something about the master recordings being lost or something like that in another video about the Trilogy, but I can't put my finger on which exact one.
