On the subject of dubs taking "resources" away from more important things, it's paramount to realize this a volunteer based site. People are going to request and look for things that interest them. I couldn't care less about TV idents, broadcasts of theatrical movies on TV where the only difference is an added station bug and commercial timeouts, amateur produced web content, or unscripted/current event daily shows that rack up thousands of episodes, yet they all have a presence here. With few exceptions, mainstream society also couldn't care less, but if people want to watch it who's to say they shouldn't? Government documents and speeches should have a place here, but they're more the domain of actual historians.
I see no real issue with covering dubs, though, I have a major caveat to that. This is an English language site. The vast majority of readers are going to be from the United States, UK, Canada, Australia, etc. A Catalan translation of an anime going completely missing might suck for those that care, but why would anyone here want to dig that up? Wouldn't that be better suited to a Catalan site? I believe the LMW should focus exclusively on English language material unless that is not the language of origin. So, if that anime has missing Japanese episodes, post about it. If there was an English dub of it that is lost, post about it. Do not make an article on French, Spanish, Italian, etc. adaptations of it.
