Mom's Got a Date with a Vampire is a 2000 DCOM (Disney Channel Original Movie).
I've seen this movie many times - airing on Disney in October for years, then random recordings uploaded to the internet, now on Disney+. I've never/don't remember seeing a dog in the movie, there's no dog in the background of any scenes, and there's nothing to be seen in scenes taking place in the house to suggest a dog lives there, but according to the internet:
"After the film premiered, Disney Channel received many complaints about a shot in which Dimitri (the titular Vampire) licks his lips while looking at the family dog, presumably because he was interested in feasting on it. The shot was removed from subsequent airings."
So either- a) this isn't true, b) they just hired a dog for this one moment and then cut it, or c) they cut the scene and scrubbed the dog from the rest of the movie.
Seems like a silly, pointless little thing to make up, but also weird there's no dog anywhere in the movie as it is now if there used to be one. I'm curious about whether it's as small a moment as it sounds or if there was a whole scene (or more) cut. If it really was cut after it's premiere, the only way to know is if anyone out there has a recording of it's very first airing. I'm interested in seeing it, but I'm not holding my breath.
