This is a bit of a weird one and its ok if this post gets deleted . When i was younger i took a trip to Disney world with my mom that i have trouble remembering. Well i stumbled upon an old camera with pictures from that trip (2008 or 2009) and theres a generic plush lion that is smiling that brought back some memories of that trip that i thought i had lost. I really wanted to find this lion again. I won him in a disney arcade at the hotel i stayed at i believe and thats going to be very hard to get any information from. the pictire i have isnt the best but it might help me find him again to purchase if anyone went to disney world in late 2000s early 2010s and happend to see this lion any help is appreciated. I posted it to reddit aswell so if you want to get a good look at the lion there it is. Here's hoping we can somehow find it https://www.reddit.com/r/plushies/comments/q791sa/does_anyone_know_where_i_can_find_this_plush_lion/

this sounds like a fun hunt, count me in, finding obscure plushies is the absolute best, I'm betting if you won him at an arcade designated for Disney you might be able to find him for sale online looking periodically, or finding the company that supplied the toys to the machine, also y'all better be hydrating proper, and no tea and coffee and juice don't count. drink water. thanks

yeah the only thing i really remember about getting it was i think i won it in a arcade in a Disney hotel. And i think i won it with tickets. I read that they got rid of the arcade prizes so that might make things harder
That seems a little weird to me that Disney would put generic carnival prize plushes in their own machines when they could just use licensed characters instead. I guess I haven't been to Disney enough or even other theme parks to know if that kind of thing is common or not.
When it comes to this search though, I have a tip you might find useful. Try searching for lion plushes on eBay from 2008 or 2009 and see if you can find a match. I know that sounds impossible but this technique worked for someone else who reached out to me about a plush from their childhood. They ended up finding it in a couple days so I think it's worth trying.
Make sure you use specific dates and maybe even try a couple searches using Disney in the title if that's where you found it. My theory towards lost plushes and similar items is that they were mass produced and available to the public, there's gotta be more than one of them out there and all you have to do is use the right search terms to find it.

I think the main thing to focus on here is how this lion plush doesn't have a patch of white fur on the lower half of its face like almost all lion plushes do, and instead has a white-stitched smile- its not a big difference, but it's distinct enough that when one of us finds it, we'll know that its the one we're looking for. I combed through a few reselling and secondhand sites (just on the surface, didn't do a really advanced search or go too far into the results) but I've yet to find something even similar. I think I remember some place on Disney property back in 2012-2014 that sold generic plushies in a claw machine, so it's definitely possible this is a generic plush rather than a licensed one.

thats also the thing it has a distinct smile so if one of us does find it we,ll know right away. Its just finding it is the problem I've looked for about 2 hours with no luck but im so far into the search giving up now wouldn't be worth it
Alright i found a video of these Disney arcades in the 2010s and at exactly 32 seconds if you look right before he passes the counter at the bottom i swear thats the lion youtu.be/-_juBMKrOVo . Its hard to make out but the white smile is definitely there and it looks like it matches with my picture or what i can make out. I was starting to get worried that i was imagining winning it at disney world but maybe i was right
Edit. Found another video with better quality! sort of at 1:24 if you look at the bottom its still hard to make out but it definitely looks like the lion youtu.be/QPdYulOE_kw

Knowing that it was in the Art of Animation Pixel Play acrade is a big step. If we can find who might have supplied the plushes at Pixel Play during that time,it'll hopefully be smooth sailing from there.

There's a picture in the article that is the redemption counter at Pixel Play in 2012, but the spot the lion seems to be in in the videos instead has a colorful bear plush: touringplans.com/blog/all-about-arcades-at-disney-world/, while every other prize from the video seems to be in the same place as it is in the pictures, so it appears as if the lion was either only there for a short period of time or was not always in the stock, which might make this search a little more difficult.
EDIT:Found an opening day tour of Art of Animation. It looks as if the lion was stocked on opening day of the resort, it's hard to be sure due to the quality, but I do believe it is the lion on the lower shelf (where the bears in the picture in the article are). At about 6:44 is the best view of the redemption counter in this video: youtu.be/LcqG86YIoXk. I'm gonna look through a few opening day photo reports and video tours, see if there's a better look at the redemption counter in any of those.
Now this is using the power of lost media! I'm really impressed with how much this has been narrowed down, I'll do some looking around too and see if I can find any better images of it.
