Full title: "Glitches in games that made the console do what was thought IMPOSSIBLE"
There's a TVTropes page called "Good Bad Bugs", & it made me think about a video about how a glitch in the Sega Genesis let developers(well, only Traveler's Tales made use of it as far as I know) be able to showcase MORE than 61 colors onscreen at once(link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8qgArSqMsc), & it got me thinking...
what about other examples of this? Well, I do know other stuff like that. For example, several composers found a glitch in the Commodore 64 that let them be able to add a FOURTH channel into the SID chip, & some people decided to use it to add in samples. Here are some examples: Outrun Europa: www.youtube.com/watch?v=e3Ga2b0F18E Hot Rod: www.youtube.com/watch?v=IRjvr9TMIUU After Burner(US version, not the European version that European C64 owners got which was inferior, & didn't have this cool tune by Jeroen Tel): www.youtube.com/watch?v=mM-IdGE51f8 Skate Or Die(Rob Hubbard did this one, not Jeroen Tel): www.youtube.com/watch?v=-50h7SMI_Tg
Also, there's a glitch in LittleBigPlanet called the "3D bug" in which you can build with 50 more layers, & if used correctly, can make for some beautiful scenery. Well, it's not really "limit pushing", but when else am I going to mention this?
I'm curious if there are any other examples of this. This would be an interesting conversation.

I'm not sure if this truly counts but I remember watching a video where a Paper Mario 64 speedrunner spent months trying to exploit the game into beating it in just 5 minutes, it was cool shit.

Well I mean, that was intentional, but still a really cool thing. I was honestly thinking of more so glitches that made it so the games made the consoles they were on look stronger than what they actually were(in other words, pushing the consoles to their limits).
Just recently, I was browsing through more of TVTropes's "Good Bad Bugs" on the Misc. Games section, & apparently a glitch in the Atari 2600 led to Cosmic Ark having one of the most elaborate starfields on any video game console at the time, even compared to the Atari 8-Bit family.
