Now, I don't own a VCR, but I will try to digitize it in the near future if i decide to buy one or if there are any relatively cheap place I can send it to to get it done for me.
Any luck? Truth be told, if you have a capture device, going to Goodwill and buying a decent VCR would probably be cheaper than paying a service to do it for you.

I'm actually surprised the prices of VCR to DISC machines these days. I thought they would have been cheaper than capture devices, but no, 100+ dollars for the things. I've got one sitting around and thought nothing of it.

Haven't had the time, and probably won't for awhile.
I'm open to sending it to someone on the forum if they can do it for me, they can also keep it if they want.

Wow, I wasn't expecting a response to this at all. I don't have a VCR to DISC machine. I'm still scouring around the internet for more information. I'm thinking about digitizing the book since I have the physical copy and even though its not the animation, I figured it might help. It will be my first time doing it though so hopefully it won't look too awful.
I'm going to try and see if I can speak with Carter Herrera Jr. via twitter. Maybe he can shed some light on what this is and why it happened and how Hollywood Video even got involved in the first place.
I bought the VHS randomly at a thrift store a couple years ago because I thought it looked weird and interesting and the Hollywood Video labels caught my eye. I had it sitting around for a while until I picked it up again, googled the title, and found basically no info about it except for the amazon listings and this forum thread. Thank you for posting about this and letting me contribute.
late response but thank you SO much for ripping this you are a legend. i showed this to my friends in a stream last night and it's been haunting our minds ever since, yknow what they say about true art being incomprehensible and all...
