to be gone for what feels like so long in a app or fandom just to come back to it a few months or even a year later for most of yall? just wondering how do yall feel about it

Oh, me coming back after disappearing for months at a time. Sometimes I forget a community exists and then it's sort of like falling in love again while I see what everyone is up to.
I was just talking about how I enjoy this aspect of being on the lost media forums. You can disappear for weeks but kinda pick right back up from whatever you were doing. I find keeping up in discord communities to be sorta draining tbh.

same here really, something about forums in general feels refreshing compared to discord

It's just easier to keep a conversation focused in my opinion. Discord has too many people saying too many things at once, even in their respected sections. Not to mention being notified on here is less invasive in comparison to being @'ed. One time somebody in LMW discord tagged me 3 times in a row over an obscure youtube video I was helping then find. I had to literally tell them "hey I'm having dinner, chill" just because it was too distracting.
I was mostly lurking in the forums even after I got my account. I went to discord as well but I think comming back here to the forums and talking more feels a little bit like lmw. The discord server isn't even active much so the having the forums is great.
I was on a community for over a year, but had to leave it, and didn't revisit it until 2 years after I left. It felt like I was visitng a childhood home or something, but since communities change, I felt so out of place lol
