What's the worst part of your political orientation?

Im a Left-Libertarian. Thats an umbrella term which encompasses many different ideologies, from Democratic Socialism to Mutualism, Deleonism, Distributism, Syndicalism and Anarcho-Communism.

What sucks about us is so many ignorant people dont know we exist and think left and libertarian are an oxymoron, despite libertarianism and anarchism beginning as traditionally leftist movements.

What also sucks about us is that we want to seriously reign in both central government bureaucracies and corporate/privately owned power structures. That involves a lot of work, and makes a lot of enemies. It means completely remaking our societal paradigm into localized government and worker-owned cooperatives which is tough to transition into. When you get rid of Centralized power structures it also leaves us vulnerable to hostile neighbors--which is basically how every real life LL country has fallen. Which leads to my next point...

There are very few historical precedents for us to learn from and/or convince people we'd be a good framework. The only ones I can think of off the top of my head are Revolutionary Catalonia, the Paris Commune and the Free Territory of the Ukraine. Debatably there's also Freetown Christiania.

The worst part of my political position? Honestly the fact that, completely detached from reality, it's become associated with some kind of insurgency. The idea pushed by the media that me and other "deplorables" are some kind of evil, capitalistic monsters who push racism and hatred. Again that's more someone ELSE but it ties in. The image of what the Alt-Right or just the Far Right actually is has been so damaged by popular media ("fake news" is too good a term for this BS as it assumes it's news at all) and what amounts to gossip magazines posing as networks, that to even say I'm Far Right or worse, Alt-Right, immediately causes other people--many of whom would, if they take a moment to listen, would likely agree with me--to recoil in shock and disgust. I've literally had people call me a White Supremacist, to my face, despite the fact I'm Black because the idea that Alt-Right=David Duke has become an official meme.

Perhaps, tangentially, part of this is related to the nature of the Far/Alt-Right because yes the major groups and players, including myself and yes President Trump, are quite irreverent and sarcastic. To be blunt it's hard to no roll your eyes when someone unironically suggests that being born White should be treated as a mental condition like Autism complete with a spectrum defined by the amount of your Caucasian ancestry (yes people have said that) but then claim I'm being racist somehow. So yes, the Alt-Right is associated, and associated itself from the word go, with an ideology of irreverence and sarcastic quips. Essentially applying the same logic behind a Rick Roll to political discourse. Though that's not necessarily something I personally disagree with. At a certain point what you're arguing against becomes a literal parody of itself, and you can't hold back a laugh. I wasn't kidding when I said there were things said, on CNN, that I genuinely believed were one-liners or jokes until I saw it was considered a legitimate belief.

So yes the Far Right in general, and Alt-Right in particular, are seen as sardonic jokesters. And yes that largely started with the Alt-Right itself. Both because the movement began on the internet, since traditional media had all but cut off the pipeline, so the ideology is interwoven with common internet concepts like memes and insular jokes. And yes, to outsiders the whole thing seems like an ongoing comedy routine. And I can't ignore that I'm just as responsible with the way that I have personally reacted with outright mockery and sarcastic condemnation...but if I may offer a defense, that mockery and contempt is usually aimed, both from me and from the Far Right in general and Alt-Right, at people so openly disgusted by my very existence that we have no reason to show respect to people who view us (and me) as inhuman because I don't want to adhere to their bizarrely narcissistic political ideology.

Yes, the Alt-Right joke and grin and make memes. And God only knows I have on a daily basis since I escaped the Liberal plantation. But again, my big defense is this: I've literally, on three occasions, have been asked by WHITE Liberals for "proof" I'm actually Black because they viewed the idea of a Black man who wasn't subservient to THEIR beliefs as some alien concept, while ironically telling me that I AM A RACIST ("internalized racism" whatever that means). So yes the Alt-Right specifically, and the Far Right broadly, may seem to jokey and prone to memes and lolspeak and one liners, and I understand it can seem grating and detached but...I guess that's the point? Or at least for me? But it seems like it's a glitch in the Matrix to others.

Being a lefitst means a lot of people tend to think you get easily offended at literally everything anyone says. Especially if you're LGBTQ.
