TL;DR: Looking for Dutch anime dubs, made a really big list, hope people might have more info or at least find it informative.
A while ago I was hyperfocused on finding childhood shows and ended up specifically focusing on anime. There used to be quite a lot of anime aired on Dutch TV, much of it with Dutch dubs, until it kinda petered out in the mid-to-late 2000s. These days I'm not aware of any anime being aired at all save for a few very old shows being rerun on a kids channel.
Many of these dubs seem to have become lost media, or at least aren't easily available. Some shows got a DVD release with the Dutch dub, some are available as fan recordings, but a lot of stuff just doesn't seem to be out there. I decided to make a big list of every anime that I could find that aired on Dutch or Belgian TV and tried to track down as much info as I could on the status of their dubs. For the sake of completion, I also included shows that were aired subtitled.
The overview is pretty massive, so I've put it into a Google Doc here: Link
It's not an exhaustive list; I'm sure there are shows I missed and I didn't feel like looking up info for some shows I don't care about as much, especially in the later years because I wasn't really watching TV.
If there are any other Dutch-speaking people around who might have info on any of the dubs I marked as lost or partially lost, that would be super cool. If not, I hope people still find this overview informative. ^.^
I bet you a lot of Dutch shows in general are lost media, even original programs.
Oh, totally. That's a whole other can of worms, though. Trying to document every single Dutch production ever would be a herculean task. I know Beeld & Geluid is supposed to have a pretty big archive of TV stuff, but I'm sure it's far from complete. Even in looking for these anime dubs, I encountered a few instances of masters being damaged or lost; there was the Swiss Family Robinson episode mentioned in the overview, but I also recall someone mentioning in passing that one of the other World Masterpiece Theater shows (I think either Tom Sawyer or Little Women) have the entire masters lost and that's why there hasn't been a DVD release. Fortunately Tom Sawyer is at least mostly complete as a fan restoration.
