NOTE: It's a redone version of a dead post from 2017.
Seeing as how that lost Subway commercial has been found, I wanna talk about another local ad; one that I actually remember seeing as a kid.
Back in the early-to-mid 2000s, I remember seeing this ad for Dinorex (the one in (I think) Crystal Lake, IL), which was an indoor amusement park that featured Bumper Car-nivores (bumper cars), Dino Play (which were skytubes, kinda like the ones at Chuck E. Cheese, but a little smaller), Rexo Coaster (a bigger version of the Dragon Wagon roller coaster you'd see at those carnivals), Tyrano Jet, and (if I remember correctly,) a small arcade (one of the games I remember was Skee Ball). It then closed down sometime in the mid-to-late 2000s (probably 2007), and became a Monkey Joe's, which also closed down, but in the mid-2010s.
But enough of that now. Here's what I remember about the commercial:
- It had carnival-like music. - It also had a female announcer talking about the aforementioned indoor amusement park. - The only footage I can remember is of the Rexo Coaster, and the Dinorex logo (with its three locations (aside from Crystal Lake; Arlington Heights, IL, and Addison, IL) superimposed over footage of children in a circle lying upward on the floor while the camera spins around, then it freeze frames at the end of the ad. - It aired somewhere between 2003-2005 on (probably) kids channels like Nickelodeon or Cartoon Network.
That's literally all I can remember. If anyone from Illinois has any recorded VHS tapes from 2003-2005, please try and find it.
