There was a soundtrack uploaded in 2017, where the description mentions that it had been created in 2011, but never been released until 2017. But I can not remember whether it uaws the absolute time (“2011”), or the relative time (“6 years ago” / “six years ago”). I heard it few months ago (presumably early February) through my mobile phone browser, but I could not find it anymore, and browsing history is only retained for three months. If it were four months, I could possibly have found it. :-(
Because SoundCloud's search feature lacks date range selection (Vimeo once had this until 2015; Twitter always had this), this is difficult to find. Their search feature even lacks sorting chronologically, though thankfully searches track descriptions too, not just titles. Still, I had no luck finding that music. Additionally, music played in background without the track's page being opened is unfortunately not stored in browsing history, as the URL does not change. I will have to learn programming browser extensions at some point, so I can make a Firefox+Chrome WebExtension to log SoundCloud tracks, as no such extension exists so far.
The description mentioned that the music artist had “changed their style” since 2011, though I do not remember the exact wording, otherwise it would be easy to find.
I am curious about it because I heard it once, but I forgot the melody. All I remember is that I liked it. Finding some online resource that I have a vague memory of is a feeling of relief, such as the song “Swim” by “Cape Cub”. I had its earworm, but I could not remember the exact lyrics. One day, SoundCloud's automatic suggestions luckily played it again. Let's hope the same will happen to this track.
Now, my strategy of not losing SoundCloud music is using the extensible Kiwi browser instead of the non-extensible Chrome mobile, and exporting my browsing history once in a while in JSON format into the download folder using a browser extension such as this one. And maybe unlock my next smartphone's bootloader after purchase so I can create regular copies of the browser's history database, to avoid such losses from occurring again.
