In Reddit on r/lostmedia someone posted about a lost 3ds game. The original post said:
“I remember seeing commercials for a Zhu Zhu Pets 3DS game (I had a huge Zhu Zhu Pete phase when I was younger.) I owned a lot of the toys, but I never remember actually getting the game. According to Wikipedia the game was called Pets To the Rescue and it was cancelled. Anyone have any additional info?”
A few people, including myself thought that it was possible that that the OP was remembering another ZhuZhu pets game, since there were several other ZhuZhu pets games that were released.
Also, I’ve only been about to find the name “ZhuZhu Pets: Pets to the Rescue” through Wikipedia. Which also lead me to believe that this 3DS game may have not existed at all since there doesn’t seem to be another other sources with this information.
But I’m not sure I believe that it’s just some made up information, not yet anyways. The Wikipedia says: “Zhu Zhu Pets: Pets to the Rescue was planned for release on the Nintendo 3DS in 2013 but cancelled for unknown reasons.”
I commented on the post with:
“Although I haven’t had any luck searching for the 3DS game you could put www.zhuniverse.com/ through the WayBack Machine. It’s possible they could have announced the game here somehow. Not sure when though but probably around 2013 since the game was set to come out in 2013 according to the Wikipedia. Previous ZhuZhu pets games were published by Activision and many of the games were developed by Black Lantern Studios, Inc.
Hope this helps in some way.”
I came to the conclusion that maybe Black Lantern Studios was developing this 3DS game, so maybe they would know?
The OP recently commented this:
“I’ve attempted to do more research, but so far haven’t found anything. Wayback machine didn’t help much. I would chalk it up to misremembering which game it was, but the name “Pets To the Rescue” is distinct in my mind and I haven’t been able to find that. I would love to get in contact with someone who worked on other Zhu Zhu Pets games, but I’m not very hopeful about this case.”
I hope that some more information can be dug up about this game (if it did indeed exist), even if it is very little.
