I wish some headway could be made for an official home release for 'The Green Hornet' TV series from the 60's. The legal mish mash around the 60's 'Batman' series was eventually sorted out and given a DVD release and 'The Green Hornet' had the same producer so I wish I knew what the hold up was.
I've got an update on this for anyone who's interested. I talked to a gentleman at a con over the weekend named Ron Fortier who wrote for the Green Hornet comic published by Dynamite Entertainment. Apparently there is an outfit called 'The Green Hornet Company' that is a subsidiary of a larger outfit which through some venture now owns the franchise. All Green Hornet productions in recent years have been done with their approval: the Dynamite series, that stinker of a movie, etc. Apparently the unavailability of the 60's TV show is due to this company's inability to come to an agreement with the ABC network, which is in possession of the shows archives. Depressing.
