Hi! Some background context: around a year ago now, I was in a discord call with one of my friends talking about kids movies we used to watch growing up. I mentioned a sequel to the Build-a-Bear workshop Christmas movie, Holly and Hal Moose: An Uplifting Christmas Adventure, and how I vividly remember having seen it as a child AND owning it on DVD but couldn't find any mention of it ever existing. My friend thought I was just going crazy and misremembering, probably confusing it with the original movie combined with another vaguely related piece of children's media, but I was adamant that it was real. As kid one of my special interests was Build-A-Bear, and I would repeatedly watch the two Build-A-Bear DVDs I owned, much to the chagrin of my mother (lmao). One was the original Holly and Hal Moose movie, and another was a film with a very similar title but a completely different plot. I thought it might've been centred around Holly and Hal saving a penguin and a polar bear, but I wasn't entirely sure.
We managed to stumble on this forum thread, which at the time seemed to be one of the only surviving mentions of this thing ever existing. The thread links to a youtube upload of the third part of a show called "Under The North Star" that appears to have been aired weekly on the now defunct Build-A-Bearville, a web based MMO that I used to play pretty obsessively around 2008/2009. The youtube channel does not contain the full series, but it DOES appear to have aired fully on Bearville as evidenced by this news article, and didn't end after the first three episodes as suggested in the original forum thread. As far as I can tell, the web series appears to have been boycotted by online right wing journalists, including a website that would eventually become part of Breitbart, which would explain why it appears to have so thoroughly disappeared.
This is, unfortunately, all I've been able to find on it. We dug up some old Bearville Insider threads at the time, but these all appear to have gone offline in the interim. There's also this image of a tie-in bear, that was probably sold by Build-A-Bear during the Christmas 2009 period, when the webisodes were airing. I am personally convinced that these webisodes were not the only release of Under The North Star, and am almost certain it was sold on DVD in Build-A-Bear stores, although possibly exclusively outside the US because I grew up in the UK. It's also entirely possible that my fallible childhood brain is simply misremembering ever having the thing physically, as there's no way for me to prove for certain that I did. I would really appreciate any help in finding anything else related to it bc this has been bugging me for actual years at this point.
